Take It Outdoors Adventures Kayak rental service and outfitter along the Schuylkill River. That's what TIOAG is for.

We organize group Kayaking, Hiking, Backpacking, Camping & Bike Rides, and many other outdoor adventures. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life sometimes it's hard to find the time to get away, let alone all the time to plan and organize a trip. We have a list of trips available and all you have to do is find the time to join us. If there is a trip you want to do, then let me know and I will figure out the logistics and post it, or you can do a private group trip. If you are a beginner and don't feel comfortable, or don't have the proper gear this is the perfect way to Take It Outdoors in a safe, fun and friendly way.

Kayaking Merit Badge - Saturday 26 September 2026

Scouts BSA Merit Badge Opportunity: Join TIO Instructors and registered Scouts BSA Merit Badge Counselors for a day on water learning, practicing, and demonstrating kayaking safety and paddling techniques.

This full day program will include all instruction while paddling a section of the Schuylkill River near Pottstown, PA. This program is open to any registered Scouts BSA member with a current BSA Swimmer ("The Swim Test") Classification. Accompanying adult leaders are invited on this trek as well.

Back in the COVID days, almost all of our rentals were pedal & paddle adventures! 🚲🛶

This weekend, we had a fun group bring it back, choosing to pedal and paddle their way to have even more fun on the river. There’s just something about earning those river miles yourself! 🙌
