On June 11, 1996 I went to my first capoeira class. I’m still here 😂 and still so grateful for the joy, lessons, and guidance that capoeira continues to bring to my life.
Thank you to my master Mestre Esquilo, for teaching me and being my biggest reference and inspiration in capoeira.
My deepest gratitude to all whose paths crossed with mine on this capoeira journey, for bringing opportunities to experience all the good, and the difficult, challenges that help us find clarity as we learn and grow.
A very special thank you to my partners at the Manitou School and FASNY for supporting our program and graduation this year, and also to all the students, parents and friends for participating.
