🏈 GAME DAY RECAP | BADGERS AT MINGUS MOUNTAIN

COTTONWOOD, AZ — Prescott Youth Football & Cheer made the trip to Cottonwood Saturday for two physical, hard-fought matchups with Mingus Mountain.

The Minors opened the day in a defensive battle where every yard mattered. Prescott’s defense continued to answer the call, keeping the game in the balance deep into the fourth quarter. With just over a minute remaining, Mingus Mountain mounted a final drive and connected on a touchdown pass with only 27 seconds left.

It was a tough finish, but an outstanding four-quarter effort from a Minors team that battled until the final whistle.

The Majors came out fast, scoring on their opening possession and building a 14–0 halftime lead. Mingus Mountain slowed the Badgers offensively after the break, but Prescott stayed patient and broke through for its third touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Mingus Mountain answered late, but after an unsuccessful onside-kick attempt, the Badgers took possession and knelt out the remaining clock to secure the win.

Great job by all of our Badgers today! Proud of the effort, fight and heart our athletes showed from start to finish. 💙💛🏈

🏈 Badgers Victorious in Camp Verde 💙💛

It was a battle with the Coyotes in Camp Verde, and both Prescott teams are heading home with a win.

MINORS | PRESCOTT 33 • CAMP VERDE 13
The Minors wasted little time establishing control, setting the tone at the line of scrimmage and dictating the pace from the opening whistle. A relentless ground attack paired with timely success through the air kept the Coyotes under pressure as Prescott rolled to a 33–13 road victory.

MAJORS | PRESCOTT 38 • CAMP VERDE 26
Prescott set the tone early, coming out physical and building an early advantage. Camp Verde battled its way back and turned the matchup into a hard-fought contest, but the Badgers stayed composed, answered when challenged, and made the plays down the stretch to secure the 38–26 victory.

🏈 Saturday Recap | Prescott Youth Football

The Majors came out swinging early and never looked back, showing great composure on both sides of the ball in a 34-7 win over Wickenburg. The offense spread the wealth with five different Badgers finding the end zone! Defensively, Prescott brought a fierce pressure mentality, forcing two takeaways and holding Wickenburg scoreless until late in the third quarter.

Our Minors battled hard in Page for their season opener, coming up just short 20-14. There was plenty to be excited about in all three phases of the game. The Badgers capitalized on a blocked punt, came up with some big defensive stops, and punched in two offensive touchdowns.

A huge thank you to all of our families, friends, and supporters who traveled to both Wickenburg and Page today to support our boys. Having our Badger family on the sidelines means more than you know.

And a special thank you to our cheerleaders who made the trip to Wickenburg and endured the heat while keeping the energy going and cheering on our boys all afternoon! 💙💛

Plenty to build on and plenty to be proud of from both teams.

Dear Badger Families,

This is not the post we were hoping to make.

To the families who signed up for our Mighty Mites division, we’re truly sorry. We know many of your athletes were excited to put on a Badger jersey this season, and we share in that disappointment.

Despite our best efforts, we simply did not have enough registrations to safely field a Mighty Mites football team for the 2026 season. With league schedules being finalized this weekend, we had to make this difficult decision now.

💙 Every Mighty Mites registration will receive a full refund. There is nothing you need to do—we will begin processing those as quickly as possible.

If your athlete is interested in playing in our Miners division, we’d love to have that conversation with you. Every athlete develops at their own pace, and we’d be happy to discuss whether moving up would be a good fit.

Thank you for believing in Prescott Youth Football & Cheer and for giving us the opportunity to serve your family. While this season didn’t come together the way we had hoped, we’re committed to continuing to grow this program and provide the best experience possible for the young athletes in our community.

Hi Badger Family!

We are excited to kick off our first official practice on Monday from 5:30–7:30 p.m.! Here are a few important reminders before you arrive:

📍 Practice Location
Due to city league softball games being rescheduled after all the rain (a good problem to have!), practice will be at Kuebler Field this Monday August 3rd, and next Monday August 10th from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Beginning Tuesday, and for the remainder of the week, practices will be held at Pioneer Park as scheduled.

🏥 Physicals
When you arrive at Kuebler Field, there will be a table set up at the entrance to collect physicals. Players must have a current physical on file before they can participate in conditioning.

🏈 Equipment Fitting
If your player has not yet been fitted for a helmet, shoulder pads, and jersey, please stop by the Connex box at Pioneer Park before or after practice. Coaches will be there to help get everyone fitted.

🚗 Parking
Please do not park inside the lower gate at Pioneer Park. That area is reserved for coaches only. All parents and spectators should park in the upper parking lot.

👕 What to Wear
This week’s practices are conditioning only, so players should wear shorts, a T-shirt, cleats. Please do not bring helmets or any other football equipment.

⏱️ Mandatory Conditioning
Even if your player attended our summer workouts, those sessions do not count toward the required conditioning hours. Monday begins our official mandatory conditioning period, so we will not be in helmets yet.

💧 Hydration
Please send your player with plenty of water. It’s going to be warm, and staying hydrated is extremely important.

We can’t wait to get started and are looking forward to a great first week! See you Monday at 5:30!
