Ready for summer?

A few Girl Scouts from Troop 809 are ready! They enjoyed a hike on Moose Loop at Northern Maine Community Trails. For some, it was their first time on the trails and they enjoyed catching toads and chasing butterflies.

The trails are calling you and your family - come explore! Moose Loop is a great trail to start on. It is less than a mile!

Northern Maine Community Trails' Women's Day did not disappoint!

Deb Gorham led a wonderful Qigong session. It was the perfect way to celebrate, connect, and take a little time for ourselves.

If you're not familiar with Qigong, it's a gentle practice that combines slow movements, breathing, and mindfulness to help improve balance, reduce stress, and boost overall well-being. Think of it as a moving meditation that's accessible to just about everyone!

The room was filled with great energy. Thank you, Deb, for sharing your knowledge and positive spirit with us.

Another inspiring session at Northern Maine Community Trails' Women's Day!

A heartfelt thank you to Kim Wright for leading our "Writing to Heal" session and sharing the many benefits of journal writing. Participants learned different journaling styles, explored the many reasons people journal, and received prompts and practical tips to help them get started.

The group was fully engaged throughout the session, asking thoughtful questions and sharing insights. Everyone left with a new journal, fresh ideas, and the confidence to begin or continue their journaling journey.

Kieffer Real Estate Donates $5,000 to Northern Maine Community Trails to Support Land Conservation and Outdoor Recreation

Kieffer Real Estate is proud to announce a $5,000 donation to Northern Maine Community Trails (NMCT) in support of the organization's ongoing efforts to preserve and protect hundreds of acres of land while promoting public health through outdoor recreation opportunities.

As a family-owned and locally operated real estate agency, Kieffer Real Estate believes strongly in investing in the communities it serves. The donation will help Northern Maine Community Trails continue its mission of maintaining and expanding trail networks, conserving natural spaces, and creating opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors.

"We are incredibly fortunate to live in a region where access to nature is central to our quality of life," said Ginger Kieffer Buck of Kieffer Real Estate. "Growing up, our family used these trails for skiing, biking, and hiking, and we still do today. We take immense pride in helping preserve this legacy so our children, neighbors, and future generations can enjoy them just as we have. Outdoor recreation brings people together, supports physical and mental well-being, and builds the vibrant communities we are proud to call home. Supporting Northern Maine Community Trails is a vital investment in both conservation and the health of our region."

Northern Maine Community Trails President Chris Condon expressed gratitude for the contribution and its impact on the organization's work.

"We are deeply appreciative of Kieffer Real Estate's generous support," said Condon. "Partnerships like this make it possible for us to continue protecting valuable open spaces and provide accessible outdoor recreation opportunities for people of all ages. This donation will help ensure that our trails and conserved lands remain available for the community to enjoy for years to come."

A huge thank you to the volunteers who helped raise the event tent this week at Northern Maine Community Trails, and a special thank you to Pineland Farms for helping make it available to our community.

From the Nordic Trail Festival and live music to weddings and community celebrations, this tent will host a lot of great memories in the months ahead.

Sometimes the most important work happens long before the first guest arrives.

Thank you to everyone helping keep Northern Maine Community Trails active, welcoming, and growing.

Celebrating creativity on Women's Day at Northern Maine Community Trails!

As part of our Women's Day event, participants enjoyed learning the beautiful art of Paper Quilling. A craft technique that involves rolling, shaping, and arranging thin strips of paper to create intricate decorative designs. From delicate flowers to elegant patterns, paper quilling transforms simple paper into stunning works of art.

It was wonderful to see the group explore their creativity, learn a new skill, and create unique handmade pieces. Thank you to all who participated and made the event so special!

Thank you Kiernan Pearce for sharing this skill with NMCT.

Following up on Northern Maine Community Trails' Women's Day celebration.

One of the sessions was American Tribal Style Belly Dancing led by Taylor Thrift and her assistant, Esmae.

There was plenty of giggling as we learned some simple moves together. We all felt a little awkward at first, but it was amazing to see the improvement and confidence that developed in such a short time.

Taylor, a nurse, owns "Tailored Nurturing: Intuitive Maternal Care and Energy Healing". A healing business dedicated to supporting women through every stage of their fertility journey. She offers a holistic and customized approach. Integrating medical expertise and energetic healing.

Thanks Taylor and Esmae!
