🚨 FALL TACK VIRTUAL AUCTION! 🚨

I have a few items up for grabs, and we’re going to do it auction style! 🤠🐴 Most items are new but there will be a few used items included and it will be noted they are used.

You can see video of each of these items on my TikTok or if you need more video, please let me know. To avoid confusion, I’m only attaching one photo per item. More can be seen under the available items photo album on this page.

HOW TO BID:

• Each item will be posted separately in the comments.
• Place your bid by replying directly to the photo/comment of the item you want.
• Bids must increase by a minimum of $5.
• Please bid in whole-dollar amounts.
• Each item has a reserve price that must be met for the item to sell.
• The highest bid at 12:00 noon CST Friday wins, provided the reserve has been met.
• Winning bidder is responsible for shipping costs listed on each item in addition to the winning bid or can schedule pickup in Primm Springs or Cool Springs (TN) after payment has been received.
• Payment will be due promptly after the auction closes. Items will not ship until payment has been received. Venmo preferred, card also accepted.
• Please only bid if you intend to purchase.

It’s nice to be able to take a break once in a while.

Starting Monday 9/14 I will have limited pickup/drop off for repairs in the Cool Springs area during the week. The tack shop will remain open virtually and by appointment only.

Billet repair on an Aussie saddle. **pics at end, read full post**

This saddle has an integrated billet. The best way to fix that is take the saddle apart and replace everything - nylon and rivets too. Problem is, the cost of that repair exceeds the cost of the saddle so we look at other options.

And that was a splice. I have done several of these and not had one break yet - definitely not trying to jinx myself! lol 🤞🏻🤞🏻

One I did was in the cup of the stirrup on the leather/fender. I advised against it but the client insisted I patch it. That was 7 yrs ago. It’s still holding. The client sold the saddle and I ran into the new owner at a clinic recently and recognized the saddle. 😂 it’s still holding! I really didn’t feel that was safe but I did it and never charged for the repair either. I’ll include pictures just for giggles. I was just starting to do a few repairs back then.

Anyway, for this saddle I increased the “weight” (thickness) of the leather and secured it in multiple places. In the end, this billet is stronger than when it got here.

This is not a “quick” repair but I am happy to do full repairs for anyone in need. Send me a message with pictures of your needed repair and I will be straightforward with you on if it can be repaired and what I can do.

This has been a busy week for repairs! Just finished repairing this halter. It needed a new snap and some reinforcement stitching.

An Aussie saddle was also dropped off this morning for billet repair so stay tuned for that!

Official before/after for a childhood saddle no longer safe to ride becoming memorialized. Now I want to do my own childhood saddle! It’s so cute!

This older Big Horn saddle carried years of history, but time and improper storage took its toll. With expired leather, rusted hardware, and a broken tree, full restoration wasn’t possible. Instead, I gave it a careful cleaning and conditioning, stabilizing it where I could, and added decorative touches to preserve its story.

I carefully cleaned and re-laced the stirrup leathers with some creative leatherwork since I couldn’t safely replace them and preserve the saddle, created a tooled sunflower horn cap, added a faux horn wrap, and replaced all the tie strings. After all that, I added an epoxy to help slow further deterioration as best I can. 

The result is a sentimental display piece that honors the original saddle and holds on to its memory. Sometimes it’s less about restoring function and more about preserving the story.

I love doing pieces like this but it’s a hard walk. You want to be respectful while also honoring and being honest about what you can and can’t do. I truly appreciate being considered for pieces like this!
