In honor of National Water Safety Month, remember these important safety tips:
⭐ Swim lessons save lives! Please visit https://ow.ly/GhIf50VWm9c and search "swim" to find available swim lessons.
⭐ Always actively supervise children when swimming or playing in water.
⭐ Keep weak or inexperienced swimmers within arm’s length of an adult.
⭐ Wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket if you can’t swim.
Each month, Aquatics recognizes one outstanding lifeguard as our “Guard of the Month” in honor of their dedication, hard work and exceptional service. 🎉
As part of this recognition, the selected lifeguard receives our famous “Silly Tube” — a fun and unique flotation device they carry while on duty. 🎨👀 Keep an eye out for its one-of-a-kind appearance in the water as we celebrate the team members who go above and beyond to help keep our community safe.
This month, we are proud to recognize Haylee Plaudis as Guard of the Month! 🏅
Haylee has been an essential part of the Aquatics team since 2017. While lifeguarding is at the core of what she does, she also serves as a pool manager and lifeguard instructor. Outside of work, Haylee is a talented dog trainer and pet sitter and hopes to open her own boarding business in the future.
When she’s not on deck, Haylee enjoys rollerblading, cosplay and attending rave festivals when the weather is nice. Next time you see her, be sure to congratulate her and thank her for the amazing work she does for Aquatics and Calvert County!
Stay tuned for next month’s Guard of the Month announcement! 👏
