Our Story

How it all began…
Jen, a runner, stay-at-home mom, and group fitness junkie, was always on the lookout for the perfect headband. One that was stylish enough to take her from the studio to preschool pickup, yet functional enough to stay in place without causing headaches. After much searching and even more disappointment, she sat down in front of her sewing machine with the cutest fabric

she could find and the first very first UrbanHalos were born!

She was so inspired by the patterns and colors brought to life that she knew she needed the perfect name for this new creation. The name “UrbanHalo” embraces the idea that each one of us is an angel to someone on this side of heaven… it hopes to inspire the God-given, passionate, joyful, adventurous, strong but humble, world-changing, active, forward-paying, loving, spirit inside of each of us.

A lot has changed since that first headband was sewn. Jen quickly discovered that the right material was key to the function of a headband. So she sought out to find the right material. After endless searching, samples and tests, she found a fabric mill {in the fabulous USA} to create just the perfect blend {lovingly referred to as ******}! This velvety-soft signature fabric is custom printed, using an eco-friendly waterless process, in each season’s hottest prints and colors.

Jen then began sharing her halos with friends and family. Suddenly, an entrepreneurial seed was starting to bloom. She brought her halos into ten different local retailers and asked them to take a chance on her new line… by the end of the week all ten locations agreed to carry her halos! It wasn’t long before the halo love spread… not only can these be now found in the coolest boutiques, studios and salons across the US, but this little dream has also created jobs, supported families and allowed Jen to give back to causes that make the world a better place to be.

Today, one of Jen’s favorite parts of UrbanHalo is not only the causes UH supports, but the community it has built. Hello everyone! We officially opened our doors for business yesterday. Thank you SO much to all of you that came out to support us on our first day. We are so thankful for the support and excitement from our community! We created a page for Lakeside Eats & Treats and will begin to use that page for updates, hours, etc. Hope to see you all soon!

🍦ICE CREAM SHOP UPDATE!🍦

After countless hours of space renovations, Lakeside Eats & Treats is almost ready to open! This week we had our final pieces of equipment delivered and just this morning tubs of yummy, handcrafted ice cream were loaded into our coolers. Tomorrow afternoon will be what we hope is our final inspection with the Health Department. So pending a green light, we will be open for business Saturday. Stay tuned!

THE WALLS ARE COMING DOWN!
We are making progress on our construction and are just a couple days away from taking down walls! This means that tomorrow (Saturday, June 23rd) from 9-2pm will be the last day our storefront will open. All clothing will be 50% OFF! Stop by and stock up!!

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
It is with bittersweet excitement that we announce that UrbanHalo will be closing our storefront in Downtown Prior Lake to make room for a much need ice cream shop! We are so appreciative of the support we have received from our community over the last few years.

We will continue to offer our headbands and select Laker gear in the ice cream shop, but as we prepare for our transition, all of our clothing is 30% off!

Open today (Saturday, June 9th) until 1pm!
