Warren stepped into the Bronx Saturday night and handled business. Decisive win. Championship attitude. Proud doesn’t even cover it.

The crew showed up. Warren showed out.

This is what happens when real training meets real heart.

And for anyone paying attention… Kru Jake is back in the corner.

Back to the standard we’ve built over decades of real Muay Thai, real preparation, and real fighters who refuse to quit.

To everyone who made the trip to New York to support Warren, that energy matters more than you know. That’s what a tribe looks like.

More to come. 👊🏆

Real gun defense training has 4 stages.

Follow for more real-world self defense insights and share this with someone in the martial arts community who needs to train smarter.

You don’t master firearm defense by practicing one clean move with no pressure.

Real self defense training has to be tested step by step.

Step 1: Static practice with training props
You first learn the movement, angles, hand placement, and weapon direction in a controlled setting.

Step 2: Nerf gun pressure testing
Now you test reaction speed. Can you move before the trigger is pulled?

Step 3: Airsoft training
This adds pressure and physical consequence. Your heart rate goes up, and mistakes become obvious fast.

Step 4: Simunition training
This is the closest simulation to real stress, using high-speed training rounds in controlled conditions.

Each level exposes what works and what fails.

Because real self defense is tested — not assumed.

Here's the honest truth about tactical training & how to defend against a gun to your head (Part 3)

Follow for more real-world self-defense insights and share this with someone in the martial arts community who needs to hear this.

It’s not clean.
It’s not perfect.
And it’s never just about one person.

In real-world self-defense, especially in high-risk situations like a gun to your head, you’re not dealing with a controlled environment. You’re dealing with unpredictability.

That’s why real martial arts training isn’t just about technique. It’s about awareness.

You can execute a perfect control, pin the weapon, and still be in danger if you forget one thing — your surroundings.

In real situations, there could be another threat behind you. Someone waiting. Someone watching.

That’s why experienced practitioners in the martial arts lifestyle always emphasize one rule: never assume it’s just one person.

Check your surroundings. Stay alert. Stay grounded.

Self-defense training isn’t about looking good or performing fancy techniques. It’s about making decisions under pressure that keep you safe.

That’s the difference between theory and real martial arts life.

If you’re serious about training, focus on awareness, positioning, and control, not just movement.

If this gave you a new perspective on martial arts training and self-defense, share it with someone who’s part of the martial arts community.

A gun to your head is one of the most high-pressure situations you can imagine.

And this is where most “fancy techniques” completely fall apart.

In real life, you don’t rise to the level of what you’ve seen online. You fall to the level of what you’ve trained.

That’s why this approach focuses on one thing: control.

Not speed. Not complexity. Control.

When you’re at close range, your priority is to immediately suppress the weapon,
keeping it directed away from your body at all times.

From there, it’s about staying tight, staying connected, and using your body position to limit the attacker’s ability to move or aim.

By applying pressure, controlling the arm, and moving into a dominant position, you reduce their options while increasing your safety.

But here’s what most people forget…

The situation doesn’t end after the initial control.

You need to stay aware. Look around. Be ready.
Because real situations are unpredictable, and there could be more than one threat.

This is why real-life training matters.

Not just memorizing techniques,
but understanding pressure, positioning, and awareness under stress.

Because at the end of the day, self-defense isn’t about winning a fight.

It’s about surviving and getting home safe.

filmed this December 2003 at Fairtex in Bang Phli, Thailand. was nine.

Pad work with his dad, a legend in the game. Technique so clean it hurts. Power, rhythm, balance, like poetry.

Three weeks ago I was back at . Janjao held pads for me. Still razor-sharp. Still teaching.

Train the real stuff.
