Update on services for Ashton Smith:

Nate Smith shared the following service details for Ashton.

The service will be held Tuesday, July 7th, at 11:00 a.m. at Majestic Baptist Church 494 E Hemlock Dr, Pueblo West, CO 81007.

For anyone who would like to participate, there will be a procession beginning at Roselawn Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. A reception will follow the service.

The family has asked everyone to wear a “Canadian tuxedo” — denim top and denim pants — in honor of Ashton.

For those in the hockey community, please bring a hockey stick. We will help send Ashton off with a center ice stick tap in his honor.

Please continue to keep Nate, the Smith family, and all of Ashton’s friends and loved ones in your prayers. Our hockey community is grieving with them, and we want to show up strong for this family.

Rest easy, Ashton. You are forever part of our hockey family.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news that one of our own, Ashton Smith, tragically lost his life on Saturday following a motorcycle crash involving an alleged drunk driver who fled the scene. Ashton was only 24 years old.

Many of you knew Ashton from our league, and many also know his father, Nate Smith, who has been a longtime member of our hockey family. Our hearts are broken for Nate, their family, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing Ashton.

The hockey community is more than just a league—we're a family. In the coming days, we'd like to come together to support the Smith family in whatever way we can. As information becomes available regarding services or ways to help, we will share it here.

Please keep Nate, the Smith family, and all of Ashton's friends and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Ashton. You will be missed far too soon.

🏒 Summer League Schedule Update 🏒

For the remainder of our summer league, game times will now be 6:45 PM and 8:15 PM.

The schedule will be updated on League Lobster accordingly, so please check there for your team’s updated game times.

Thank you all for your flexibility, and we’ll see you at the rink!

Summer League rosters are officially set!

This year, we had to cut the league down to 4 teams because we did not have enough players to make 6 teams work. Each team will have 14 players, but we’ve extended the playing time with longer periods to help make sure everyone still gets plenty of ice time.

With it being summer, there are usually a few players missing each week, so this should help keep the games competitive. I also did not want to have to tell any more players than I already did that they couldn’t play, so this was the best option to keep as many people involved as possible.

FCA is hosting a Hockey Camp at Pueblo Ice Arena from June 8–11, 2026, running 8:00 AM–12:00 PM each day. This camp is open to boys and girls ages 6–15 and is a great opportunity for young players to grow their skills, build confidence, and be encouraged through faith, character, and teamwork.

🏆 Congratulations to Little Caesars! 🏒

Little Caesars took home the Pueblo Men’s Hockey League Championship last night with a hard-fought 6–4 win over MAGA.

Great game by both teams and a great night of local hockey. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the league!

🏒 Pueblo Men’s Hockey League Championship Game! 🏆

Come out this Wednesday, May 20th at 7:30 PM and support your local adult hockey league as we close out the season with the PMHL Championship Game!

This year’s championship matchup features MAGA vs. Little Caesars — two teams ready to battle it out for the title. Expect fast-paced hockey, great competition, and a fun night at the rink.

We’re also excited to welcome Chris Daring, 1996 National Fiddle Champion, who will be performing the National Anthem to kick off championship night.

The Pueblo Ice Arena & Events Center will have beer, food, and snacks available, so grab some friends, come hungry, and enjoy a great local hockey matchup.

Heads Up Hockey Summer League Registration

Heads Up Hockey is getting ready for the 2026 Summer League!

This year, we will be running one combined adult summer league on Wednesday nights with six teams. Game times will be:

7:30 PM
8:45 PM
10:00 PM

The cost will be $275 per player.

The first games will be held on Wednesday, May 27, with games every Wednesday through the end of June. We will take the entire month of July off, then resume play on the first Wednesday of August. Championship and consolation games will be held on the first Wednesday of September.

In-person sign-ups will be held at the Pueblo Ice Arena:

Wednesday, May 13
8:00 PM – 9:30 PM

I will also be taking sign-ups the following Wednesday before and after the Pueblo Men’s Hockey League Championship Game, which starts at 7:30 PM.

Spots are limited. Current league players will receive first preference. If you are currently playing in the league, your spot is reserved. However, if you do not plan to play this summer, please let me know as soon as possible so I can offer that spot to someone else.
