One of our local radio stations posted a list of organizations that will be closed on Wednesday & services that won’t be available — Juneteenth is a national holiday, so there’s no mail, banks are closed, etc! Some of the comments were appalling… I’ll let you use your imagination 😖Those individuals demonstrated their ignorance and racism with their words. So in the spirit of education and promoting equity and justice, here’s an awesome link!

“On June 19, 1865, nearly two years after President Abraham Lincoln emancipated enslaved Africans in America, Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas with news of freedom.
