Blue Heron Pines Golf Course

Progress continues on growing in the new turf on the back 9, tee boxes are getting their 1st mow and roll. Greens will follow tomorrow with rolling and a high cut. Great progress has been seen over the last week with turf coverage increasing every day. The rest of the back 9 is looking fantastic due to lack of play and will be perfect when we reopen in the fall.

While we currently only have 9 holes open for play the course is in great condition. Tee times are available during all times of the day and our current 9 hole rates can't be beat.

This is the final stage of the golf course renovation, sprigging of the new tee boxes. We are now in the grow in phase for both the tees and the greens. We are seeing the greens start to take on roots and start the process of spreading to fill the areas in. As a reminder the back 9 continues to be closed to resident traffic. We are heavily watering and cannot have the traffic damaging the course.

Sod is down for the collars around the greens, final grading underway today and continuing tomorrow. Wednesday the sprigs for the greens arrive and will be installed. Work continuing on grading the new tee areas which will be grassed after the greens are completed. We received just over 4" of rain over the last few days which was perfect to ensure we have the water available to water in the new greens. Project is going along very well and on schedule. We are working to strengthen the grass on the tees of the front 9 by adding soil amendment, greens were verti-cut and sanded today. These steps are necessary to provide you with the best possible conditions, we appreciate your patience and understanding while we perform the necessary maintenance.

Golf course palm tree trimming is now complete, they look great!

Back 9 is looking fantastic as the lack of play and traffic have allowed everything to heal and grow in fully. All back 9 greens have now had the grow mix installed, we need some watering in to help prepare the mix for shaping and then sprigging in the grass.
