Our team lived the full camp life—🏠 staying in dorms, 🏀 putting in full days on the court, and 📚 soaking up lessons from some of the best coaches around.

The grind, the laughs, the late-night talks… all made us stronger together. We can’t wait to do it all again next summer! 💪

Meet our Coaches:

Jon Schmitz
Head Coach, Babcock High School
Director of Operations, SOLiD Training Academy

🏀 Entering his 20th season as a varsity basketball head coach, Coach Schmitz has led four different programs across Iowa and Florida. At 3 of those schools, his teams set single-season wins records!

🏆 His teams have won 4 District & Conference Championships, and he’s coached 12 college basketball players (including 3 at the Division I level). Along the way, he’s been honored with 3 Coach of the Year Awards.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Coach Schmitz loves working with players of all grades and skill levels through SOLiD Training Academy, helping kids connect and grow in the Babcock Ranch community.

💙 Off the court, he and his wife Andrea are raising three amazing kids:

Aaron Waters

⚡ Entering his 3rd season as a high school coach, Coach Waters brings the same competitive edge that once made him a Top 100 Player in both Baseball & Basketball in Florida.

💡 Known for being detail-oriented and disciplined, he believes in building a strong foundation for players of all ages and skill levels.

👨‍👩‍👧 Coach Waters and his wife Nadia are proud parents to three daughters: Naomi (12) 🌟, Londyn (8) 🎶, and Parker (5) 💕.

Jalen Brown

🌍 With over 15 years of playing experience, Coach Brown is now in his 2nd season at BHS, fueled by a lifelong passion for the game.

🎖️ Growing up in Maryland, he was a high school team captain, an All-Area player, and learned leadership from his father, a coach of 20+ years. His journey also took him overseas for collegiate play, sharpening both his skills and global perspective.

💪 Today, Coach Brown is dedicated to inspiring athletes to work hard, play with confidence, and lead on and off the court. His mission is to create a positive, competitive, and empowering environment for every player.
