THE YOGA SANCTUARY has been created to provide a moment of tranquility in our very busy lives. Tucked in the heart of Punta Gorda’s historic district is a small ‘sanctuary’ where you can nurture the body, mind and spirit. Our mission is to share our passion of yoga with the community by providing a warm, safe environment to develop the tools needed to incorporate yoga into everyday life. We offer the benefits of yoga to people of all ages and experience levels. Whether you’re interested in a yoga class, private instruction, meditation, or simply want to unwind with a fresh cup of organic tea, The Yoga Sanctuary is your destination to relax, refresh and rejuvenate. At our studio, you’ll find a full range of yoga classes, empowering year-round workshops, individualized programs and yoga supplies all designed to support a yogic lifestyle. In honoring nonviolence (“ahimsa”) – we are committed to making environmentally friendly decisions in the design of our studio and daily operations. Design features include cork flooring, non-VOC (volatile organic compounds) and odor-free paint, and IKEA furniture. Cork flooring is used to keep us connected to the earth – the source of our being. One of the greatest benefits of cork flooring is the environmental impact – because it’s made from bark, the cork trees are simply peeled instead of cut down. Warm and soft under the feet, cork provides a comfortable, safe environment for your yoga practice. Additionally, we supply the studio with non-toxic, bio-degradable yoga mats and cork blocks. We also use all natural cleaning products, recycled paper products, and supply our tea station with organic tea.
