When Melissa, a long-time Y staffer, casually mentioned to a member that she had a wife and her own daughter was taking classes at the Y, the member broke down in tears.
"She cried at the front desk because she realized the Y would be okay with her son having two moms and her coaching his team," Melissa recalls. "I can't imagine wanting to do something with and for my daughter and thinking I wasn't able to because they weren't accepted in this program."
Happy Pride Month. The Y is For All.

Over 200 YMCA lifeguards from Pierce and Kitsap counties came together to celebrate National Water Safety Month in May. Throughout the event we had an impactful presentation and team connection, all focused on one important goal: helping keep our communities safe around water. Weβre proud to continue investing in water safety, strong teams, and the people who help create safer pools for all.

Not sure if you should choose Summer Clinics or Y Camp οΈIt depends on your goals for summer βοΈ
β½ Summer Clinics = shorter bursts of fun with a focus on specific interests. Perfect for kids who want to get involved in their favorite activity.
ποΈ Y Camp & Specialty Camps = full day adventures filled with swimming, games, friendships, outdoor play and new experiences each week.
Either way, your kids are active, engaged & making memories while you conquer your summer schedule π
