Growth isn’t always about pushing harder.
Sometimes it’s about softening into what’s true — letting effort become ease, and movement become meaning.

This month’s Inner Shift explores that quiet space where stretching meets alignment.

Sometimes people draw conclusions about what you have to offer — and they couldn’t be more wrong. “𝙉𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙟𝙪𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝙖 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙗𝙮 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧” has followed me my whole life.

I didn’t have a degree.
I worried about that for years.
I do have certifications.
And because of it, people tried to pass me over, question my credibility, or assume I must’ve been handed something I had 𝙣𝙤𝙩 earned.

More than once, someone looked at me in disbelief when they learned I was a Comptroller before retiring.

What they didn’t see was the school of hard knocks.
Learning by doing.
Common sense.
The strengths I recognized in myself long before anyone else did.

Education is valuable — absolutely.
But so are resilience, grit, and the ability to keep going when the door closes in your face.

Even now, as a coach, some people want the polished 30‑second pitch.
That’s never been me.
My work isn’t a performance — it’s lived experience, relationships, trust building, and wisdom earned the long way.

𝙔𝙤𝙪’𝙡𝙡 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙖 𝙡𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙉𝙊’𝙨.
𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙔𝙀𝙎’𝙨.
And sometimes the most important 𝙔𝙀𝙎 is the one you give yourself!

If you’re in a chapter of rebuilding confidence or direction, this is the work I do every day. If you ever want to explore it together, I’d be glad to connect.

And if reflections like this resonate, I share more in my Inner Shift newsletter on LinkedIn — a calm, grounded space for real growth and honest insight.

𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚!

There’s a kind of reflection that only shows up when we step out of our routine.

I’m traveling this week — a short, intentional pause that invites me into a different rhythm. 🛫

We spend so much of our lives moving, producing, and responding. There’s something powerful about the moments that ask us to simply 𝒃𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 what matters. 🕊

Sometimes the real shift isn’t in what we do, but in what we notice when we pause.

What has stepping away revealed to you lately?

Let’s treasure what we have and take care of it while we can.

Earth Day invites us into a quieter kind of awareness — to notice what sustains us, what we take for granted, and what asks for our care.

Even the smallest acts of stewardship ripple farther than we realize.

Three things I remind clients during busy seasons:

𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲.
𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲.

If you’re navigating a full life right now, your pace is valid — and your progress still counts.

𝙄 𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠 — a monthly reflection space on LinkedIn called Inner Shift.

It’s a space for reflection, gentle leadership, and the deeper transitions many of us are navigating right now.

It’s been meaningful to create something that feels aligned with where I am and how I’m moving through this season.

If you’re on LinkedIn and would like to follow along, I’d love to have you there.

These subtle moments often show up before the bigger clarity arrives.

If you’ve been feeling that lately, you’re not alone.
