Sharing what I’m learning as a PTA student!
Posture is key for keeping your body balanced, and pain-free. Did you know that for every inch your head moves forward (like when going, driving, reading and looking down at your phone) , it increases the weight on your spine by about 10 lbs?
This shifts your center of gravity which puts extra stress on your neck and lower back.
Overtime, this leads to muscle tension, headaches, and even chronic pain. Keeping your head stacked over your shoulders helps reduce strain and improves overall function.
So, stop slouching and pull your head and shoulders back! 😀

I had a great time at the Fall Prevention Expo at the Gordon YMCA today! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat about the importance of balance and strength as we age.
Did you know that strong glutes, feet muscles, and core strength are key to preventing falls?
They help you stabilize you with every step, improving your balance and reducing the risk of injury.
Let’s keep moving and stay strong!

A heartfelt shout-out to my extraordinary client, Angela! Her unwavering dedication, relentless work ethic, and consistent attendance set her apart from day one. Angela isn’t just a client; she’s become a wonderful friend ❤️. Her genuine goodness shines through.
While Angela thanks me for showing up, it’s truly me who should express gratitude for HER and for trusting me as her trainer. Watching her confidence flourish as she ventures out of her comfort zone is immensely rewarding! My goal is for clients like Angela to embrace their workouts confidently, free from intimidation in the gym.
I understand classes may seem scary, but once you try them, you’ll be hooked! Our instructors, especially the amazing Stacy , are supportive and bring the 🔥. This is just the beginning for Angela! 🤩💪

This is so true! Oftentimes, we focus on one issue and try to fix ONE part on our body. Through many years of training and my background of corrective exercise, I have found that it doesn’t need to be that complex.
The solution? Just move! Are your hips tight? Just move them and take them through all of the ranges of motions that they are intended to go through.
Pain in your shoulder? Yep, that’s right… just move them more often!
The actions that I see often see get neglected are protraction and retraction of the shoulder blades and internal and external rotation of the hip.
Give this a read and see how easy it is for you to work on getting your mobility back. Once you lose it, it’s hard to get back so start moving!
Anatomical Movements - Tom Morrison Movements usually come in pairs, what goes up must come down after all. Here we’re going to go through some of the most common movements such as Flexion and Extension, and some less common, like Inversion and Eversion.
I miss training outside. I can’t wait for summer and more ☀️!
