💜💛 WE WANT YOUR IDEAS! 💛💜

As we continue building our Unified program, we’re exploring the creation of a Unified Leadership Club — and we want our students, athletes and peers to help shape what it becomes!
This club would be a place for students with and without disabilities to come together, build leadership skills, promote inclusion, advocate for others, get involved in our school, and most importantly — have fun together!

We want to hear from YOU!
🎉 What activities or events should we do?✨ What leadership opportunities would you like to see? Helping lead meetings, planning events, welcoming new members, speaking at school events, mentoring others.

There are no wrong answers. Big ideas, small ideas, fun ideas — we want to hear them all!

👇 Students, Athletes and Peers: drop your ideas in!📩 Send us a DM📧 Email Jennifer at [email protected] is YOUR Unified community, and we want your voices to help build what comes next.

💜💛 Your voice matters. Let’s build it together!

💜 Update on John Anderson 💛

We wanted to share an update on his road to recovery.

John has now been in the hospital for more than 60 days. It has been a long and uphill battle, but anyone who knows John knows just how strong and determined he is.

We’re happy to share that John is doing better and has moved into the rehabilitation phase of his recovery. He is working hard in therapy, rebuilding his strength, and continuing to make progress.

John is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support, prayers, positive thoughts, and encouragement he has received throughout this journey. It has meant so much to know how many people are cheering him on.

There is still a road ahead, but we are thankful for the progress he has made and continue to stand behind him every step of the way.

Keep fighting, John. Your Unified family is cheering you on! 💜💛

📣 Puyallup Unified Sports Update

As we prepare for the upcoming Unified Sports season, we wanted to share that Puyallup Unified will not be participating in bowling this year.

We know bowling has been a sport that many of our athletes and partners have enjoyed, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding as we make this transition.

We’re looking forward to an exciting year ahead with Unified Basketball and Soccer and can’t wait to see our athletes and partners back together! 💜💛

Thank you to our families, athletes, partners, volunteers, and supporters for continuing to make Puyallup Unified such a special community.

Go Viks! 💜💛

A Retirement & Recovery update for Mr. John Anderson

After many years of dedicated service to the students of Puyallup High School and the Special Olympics community, Mr. John Anderson will be retiring from his roles as a teacher and Program Coordinator for Unified Sports and Special Olympics at Puyallup High School.

This summer, John experienced some unexpected medical setbacks, and his focus now is on rest, recovery, and healing. While this isn’t the way he envisioned closing this chapter, his impact on the lives of his students, athletes, fellow educators, and our entire community is immeasurable.

At this time, John is not able to receive phone calls or visitors as he continues his recovery. We kindly ask that everyone respect his privacy and give him the time and space he needs to heal. Your understanding, thoughts, and prayers mean more than you know.

John has spent years giving so much of himself to others encouraging students, championing inclusion, and creating opportunities through Unified Sports and Special Olympics.

If you have questions regarding upcoming Unified Sports or the Special Olympics program at Puyallup High School, please reach out to Manny Briones or Jennifer Reed. They will be happy to assist you during this transition
