🏁 **WHAT A WEEKEND FOR THE McGOWAN BOYS!** 🏁
This weekend marked the last points race of the season, and it was one to remember for our family! ❤️💙
For Scott, this race meant so much. It was his **LAST points race as a Jr. Honda driver**, making it an emotional and important milestone. After letting the nerves get the best of him at the last race, the goal for Sunday was simple: focus on running a race he could be proud of and stop worrying about points or winning. Just trust himself, pass cars, and have fun!
Both boys pulled some big pill numbers, which meant starting toward the back of the field. But that didn't stop them from giving it their all! 🏁
🏎️ SCOTT | JR. HONDA
Scott started his heat race in P5 and worked his way up to finish P2! He focused on passing cars, working on his timing, and trusting himself. Most importantly, he came off the track feeling proud of the race he had just run. As parents, that's the kind of progress we love to see! ❤️
Then came the main event! Scott started P2 and found himself battling for the lead with one of his good buddies. After a caution, he got close to making a pass, but he wasn't done yet! He kept working on getting into position, finding the right moment, and timing his move. When the opportunity came, he made the pass and pulled away.
HE DID IT! 🏆 FIRST PLACE!
The win he has been working and hoping for finally came, and we couldn't be prouder! But even more than the win, we're proud of the mindset he brought to the track. He focused on what he could control, trusted his abilities, and ran a race he could be proud of. What a way to close out his final points race as a Jr. Honda driver! 🥹❤️
🏎️ MAVERICK | RED ROOKIE
Maverick continues to work hard and build his skills as a rookie. Since points aren't involved in his class, his focus is on improving his speed, learning his racing line, and becoming a stronger, more confident driver.
In his heat race, Mav started P3 and finished P2! 💪
For the main event, he started P2. Unfortunately, the start was a little rocky, and the green flag stayed out. He fought through it and brought home a P3 finish! 🏁
Mav is learning that racing isn't just about speed. It's about perseverance, keeping a clear mind when things don't go as planned, and continuing to push forward. Every lap is an opportunity to learn, and we're so proud of the progress he's making! ❤️💙
**Two boys, two different journeys, and so much to be proud of!**
Scott is learning to trust himself and overcome the mental side of racing, while Maverick is building his foundation and strengthening his skills one lap at a time. Racing is full of ups and downs, but watching these boys grow, learn, and push through their challenges is what it's all about.
We're incredibly proud of both of them, not just for their finishes, but for their determination, perseverance, and the lessons they're learning along the way.
What a way to finish the points season! Now it's time to keep learning, keep growing, and most importantly, **KEEP HAVING FUN!** 🏁❤️💙
