Pakistan’s rising chess talent Rayaan Rehman has achieved another remarkable milestone after earning the prestigious Arena International Master (AIM) title from the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

At just 10 years old, Rayaan has become one of the youngest players in Pakistan to receive this international distinction, further strengthening his reputation as one of the country’s most promising young chess stars.

Rayaan has already created history multiple times in Pakistan’s chess community. Earlier, he became the youngest Pakistani to achieve the Arena FIDE Master (AFM) title and also the youngest Pakistani to earn the Arena Candidate Master (ACM) title.

The young chess player has represented Pakistan in several international tournaments and championships, including the Asian Youth International Chess Championship in Kazakhstan, the Asian Schools Chess Championship 2024 in Bangkok, and the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2025 in Malaysia.

His achievements have drawn praise from chess enthusiasts, educators, and sports supporters who see his success as an encouraging sign for the future of competitive chess in Pakistan.

Observers say young talents like Rayaan are helping increase interest in mind sports and international chess competitions across the country while inspiring more children to participate in strategic and intellectual sports.

He was referring to the 1996 game between Garry Kasparov and Judit Polgár, where Kasparov converted the rook-and-knight vs. rook endgame successfully. Interestingly, Sindarov also had rook and knight vs. rook earlier in the event against Anish Giri, though that game ended in a draw.
