CUNY Athletic Conference | BMCC Athletics Sophomore Guard Jeremiah Cardi picked up his second All-Region XV Second Team honor after his outstanding effort during the 2022-23
Cardi has been the heart and soul of the BMCC men's basketball program and an integral part in helping turn the Panther's basketball program coming out of the pandemic leading them to double-digit victories coming out of the pandemic for the first time in two seasons with 11 on the year. The New York, New York native also led the Panthers this season in assists (68), three-pointers made (28), three-pointers attempted (97), free throws made (60), and free throws attempted (80).
The two-time CUNYAC Player of the Week was also second in free throw shooting (75%) and has scored in double figures in 13 games and reaching the 20-point mark in two, including a season-high 29 points against Hostos Community College on December 8, 2022. Cardi also registered a season-high this season in scoring with 266 points and 11.6 points per game while tied ninth with 53 career threes made and 15th in program history with 498 career points.
Queensborough Community College men’s basketball freshman forward Anthony Walters has been named the 2022-23 Region XV Division III Player of the Year, as well as First Team All-Region, as voted on by the Region XV coaches.

Walters, who was also named the 2022-23 CUNY Athletic Conference Player of the Year last week, leads the Tigers and the entire country in scoring at 25.3 points per game, while averaging 8.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest. He is currently 1st nationally in points scored per game, 2nd in three-point FG% (52.9), 3rd in total points scored (583), 5th in field goals made (209), and 11th in free throws made (119).

NJCAA WBB | The nationally-ranked Hostos Community College Caimans are conference champions once again, knocking off BMCC, 71-44, to secure the 2023 CUNYAC/Healthfirst Community College Women’s Basketball Championship at Kingsborough Community College.
#5 Savannah Williams was named the championship’s Most Valuable Player. The sophomore from White Plains, New York finished with a season-high 29 points to go along with 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals.
CUNYAC Player of the Year #23 Aiyana Hicks finished with seven points and 15 rebounds along with three assists and three steals. #11 Fatoumata Diaby, the 2023 CUNYAC Sportsmanship Award Winner, finished with 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in the win. #21 Zaire Bailey produced a double-double in the victory, finishing with 10 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
BMCC’s #23 Demaris Andrews, the 2023 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year, finished with a team-high 17 points to go along with 11 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season. #24 Emily Kennedy produced a double-double of her own with 15 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.

NJCAA MBB | #24 Anthony Walters, the 2023 CUNYAC Player of the Year, was named the championship game's Most Valuable Player. The nation's leading scorer finished with a game-high 23 points while grabbing six rebounds in the win.
#1 Stephon Flores finished with 20 points, three rebounds and three steals, while #23 Preston Harts finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Each earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
BMCC was led by #12 Daniel Laffitte's 19-point performance, while #33 Jayden Jarrett added 16 points and 9 nine rebounds.
