We’re fortunate to have a lot of taxidermy at our club. The 7-pt buck that hangs near the fridge and coffee pot was taken in 1993 by Dave Kelleher on the ridge behind the range. He was hunting with Jim Ladd, Sr., who passed away in 2015, and Jimmy Ladd Jr. Club member Dan Ladd arranged to acquire the buck mount and a couple of fish when Dave passed away over a decade ago. Bill Ladd, also a club member, brought a photo of buck to the club a few years ago that had been misplaced. Recently, Jimmy Ladd passed away, so we looked for and found the photo from 1993 of the buck at last night’s meeting.

Busy weekend coming up at the club: Running Deer Friday (Aug. 28), Clays Saturday morning, archery Saturday afternoon and 2-gun on Sunday.

Also, the Reloading Committee is doing a handloading demo on Monday, Aug. 31 at 6pm. We're going to load up some .308. If you're at all interested in reloading, feel free to join us.

Attn. Shooters: Hicks Gun Shop, on Rt. 40, in Hartford, is selling their inventory during this weekend's (Aug. 1-2) town wide garage sale. There's a lot of reloading stuff, but also some hunting, fishing and trapping stuff too. Stop in if you're over that way.
