Getting a kid into wrestling creates good things for that child. It teaches so many things, including discipline and learning how to navigate your own emotions. If you're interested, go to the parents' meeting in the QND cafeteria on Thursday, October 24th at 6:30 p.m. We have a great group of students and parents!

We will be hosting a wrestling clinic June 14th and June 15th. This is open to any boys and girls that are interested in learning more about the sport and want a unique perspective in Folkstyle and Freestyle. The Clinic will feature two former QND Alumni Wrestlers Jeffery Haley and Catherine Steinkamp. Both wrestlers are three-time NAIA National Qualifiers. Jeffrey Haley was also a NAIA All-American for William Baptist and is currently the Womens Head Coach and Mens Assistant Coach at Quincy University. Catherine Steinkamp is Team Captain and Nationally Ranked with William Penn University. William Penn just capped off their year and set high marks in school history as they took 4th in the Nation as a team for the 2023-24 season.

Camp will be $30 and will include two sessions.
Session 1 - Friday June 14th 6-8pm w/ Jeffrey Haley
Session 2 - Saturday 10am - 2pm with Catherine Steinkamp
Lunch will be provided on Saturday for all campers.

The Quincy Little Raiders brought 14 wrestlers to Sectionals for a chance to gain some really good experience and showcase their skills against 44 teams from the West Sectional. Even though the last match ended at 7pm last night and not the way we thought it could, each wrestler did their best and wrestled hard. The club came away with 17 individual wins and 4 wrestlers will have a chance to compete at the State Tournament. Mia Megee and Kathlynn Sturhahn both will move onto the Girls State tournament in Decatur, IL in two weeks. Parker Thomas and Cian Meyers will represent the club in Rockford, IL for the boys this Friday. Alec Coronado and Vincent Edmondson both just missed out and took 4th place. I am really proud of all the hard work each kid put in this year and I am very excited to see what everyone can do next year!

This weekend we had 5 wrestlers compete in tournaments. The team watched all 5 wrestlers take 1st place and have a perfect day going a combined 15-0. From the Rochester tournament pictured below is Mia Megee, Alek Coronado, and Zander Megee. Not pictured is Cayden Mclelland.

Paul Zanger went to the Warsaw tournament and finished 1st.

Last Wednesday night we hosted 180 grade school wrestlers. We were lucky to have Santa and the Grinch help kick off the event with a Christmas matchup!

Canton, MO came by and wrestled for a couple hours with us the other day. It was fun.

PLEASE SHARE THIS! If you know a kid that wants to wrestle, send them to QND's wrestling room on Thursday, November 9th at 5:30pm. Even if the kid isn't registered, we'll get him/her settled nicely.
