Fly the W! The CGA All Stars won the Gateway PGA 17u Jr League Championship today at Legacy Golf Course in Granite City, Il. Our -8 total was 6 shots better than the second place team. The win qualifies us for the Region Championship in Smithville, Missouri, in September. Jack Duffy and Natalie Druffel were dominant today. Olliver Hendrian and Nancy Scholz, Kale Friye and Maverick Stout, Bryton Gavillet and Carter Brocksieck rounded out the team. I’m so proud of the all these kids. I’ve known them for many years and they just keep getting better. It is a joy to watch them excel!

Due to the the rain, and a golf education event on Monday evening, April 21, the Christensen Golf Academy will be closed for practice all day on April 21. Please come see us on April 22.

Our first range ball customer in 2025! .

The driving range at the Christensen Golf Academy will open for golfers who want to practice on Monday, April 14, at noon. My grass tee, while far from perfect, is filling in nicely. So if you’ve got an itch to practice from a grass tee, come on out and hit a bucket of balls. You’ll notice that on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the opening times are later. Maintenance activities are being scheduled during these morning hours.

It turns out that I need my space. So I am moving the CGA back to the Sheridan Swim Club. I started teaching there this weekend. The trailer is gone. (Thank goodness). And there is a fair amount of work that needs to be done in order to get the range tee ready. I’m shooting for mid April to open for golfers to hit a bucket of balls off grass.

My biggest loss is my right hand man Ed Holthaus. I need to hire some one to cut grass and pick the range. Please spread the word. Mowing and picking take place in the morning, so that pretty much eliminates teenagers who go to school from consideration. This job is ideal for someone who wants a little flexibility in scheduling and can operate a mower.

Today is the first day of a new reimagined Christensen Golf Academy. I am closing the range, and relocating to the Range at KC. For almost 19 years the current version of the CGA has operated at The Sheridan Swim Club. I can’t thank them enough. They have been a tremendous landlord.
I am not retiring! I’m moving! There is a difference. My phone numbers are still the same. I’m still going to be giving golf lessons. Many of you have already seen me at the KC. It’s really great! They asked me to join them. They made it really hard to say no! I’m older than I once was. I want to actually play some golf in the future. I’m going to Whistling Straits on Thursday. Winter Training starts in November. It’s the dawn of a new day.
