We are very saddened to hear off the passing of Retired Major Hanshi Doug Perry Sensei. We extend our deepest condolences to the Perry family, immediate and extended as well as friends near and far, local and abroad affected by this loss.

He was an incredible person in addition to being an icon of the Martial Arts world. You will be missed, Sensei. Rest in peace.

Many thanks yet again to Kyoshi Clint Green of Green's Martial Arts and his wife Sandy for such an incredible weekend. Your hospitality is never anything short of spectacular.

More pictures and videos to follow once we get all of them back from photo/video dvd!

Disclaimer: As always, at your Dojo, do what your Sensei teaches. What is depicted in the video below, is 1 possibility, not a definition. We incorporated different principles of power generation and put them all into a single kata.

We are about 1 week removed from yet another fantastic camp hosted Kyoshi Dave Ahrens, his family and the entire East Coast Karate school. Thank you to everyone who was involved as you always make us feel welcome. Special thanks to all the instructors who took their time to pass on their knowledge and expertise. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon and hope that all have arrived home safely from their travels.

Recently (June 22nd - July 2nd), members of the American Shobukan Association ventured to Okinawa to train with Hanshi Gibo Sensei at his dojo. While there, 5 members were able to test for their next rank in front of the head of the Shobukan Association (Dave and Ryan Tierney -Shodan, Zach and Gene Duncan - Sandan and Ian Duncan - Godan).

We were yet again met with kindness and overwhelming generosity. We cannot thank the members of the Shobukan dojo enough. A special thanks must go out to Hanshi Gibo and his wife for being incredible hosts, Sensei Kakazu and his wife, Mr Chinen, Mr. and Mrs. Takahiko and Yukie Gibo and all other teachers and students who helped us the entire trip. For most of the group, this was their first trip to Okinawa and to say they were impressed would be an understatement. We look forward to having the chance to return to Okinawa in the future to continue to improve our karate and build our relationships. Thank you again!
