Today, we are honored to share the legacy of Faith Caldwell. In order to respect Faith's privacy, on August 14th, 2026 the executor of the estate of Faith Caldwell has authorized CHP to release the following information about Faith

Faith’s connection to horses was lifelong. Her dedication to safety, education, equine welfare, and the future of Carolina Horse Park was equally profound.

Through an extraordinary $1.15 million gift to the Carolina Horse Park Foundation, Faith has left one of the largest gifts in the Park’s history, and a lasting investment in the future she believed was possible here.

The horses may be the stars, but volunteers are a huge part of what keeps competition weekends running smoothly. Every volunteer plays a role in creating the experience our sport and community are built around.

We’re looking for volunteers for two upcoming weekends:
🐴 Five Points Horse Trial | August 22–23
🐴 War Horse Event Series | September 4–6

Whether you’re a longtime volunteer or have never volunteered at an event before, there’s a place for you at the Park. Come spend a day outside, be part of the action, and help make a great weekend possible. Your time makes a difference.

Around the Baker building, visitors are certain to notice the stunning garden honoring the life of Claire Bruno. 🌸 By becoming a Steward of the Park, along with several other benefits, plantings will be added to this beautiful heart of the Park in your name.

“Claire’s passion for plants came second to her love of horses, which began in childhood. This love brought her on adventures up and down the east coast from Florida to New York, from working with racehorses to mucking stalls for lessons. In 2009, she bought the horse of her dreams, Bugsy. Claire and Bugsy meandered, gallivanted, galloped, jumped, and most excitingly, competed, together. She proudly displayed her ribbons for all who cared to admire them, and meticulously checked Hoofbeats in the hopes that she and Bugsy would be featured. Claire’s last moments were spent with her beloved companion.” - An excerpt taken from the Sandhills Sentinel
