Q - "How often should I be going to the gym a week?"

A - The answer to this question depends on your current level of activity. Generally it is recommended that adults do 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise at least 5 times a week. This may sound like a lot, but walking for 30 minutes a day Monday to Friday will get the job done! However, if you have not been in the gym consistently for an extended period of time I recommend starting out slow so you can grow your stamina and get progressively better. Starting out with one to two times a week will prevent burnout and increase your confidence in yourself. Rest is equally as important as well so, no matter what kind of training split you do, make sure that you are getting your rest in!
