Fresh off the bye week, the Carolina Panthers took care of business in Philadelphia with a 25-14 win —and while it wasn't pretty, it showed real growth. Playing a depleted Eagles squad missing Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, this was a "must-win" for Dave Canales' team. Despite a slow offensive start, late-half clock management headaches, and a staggering franchise-record 13 penalties for 149 yards, Carolina controlled the game. Bryce Young threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns to Tommy Tremble, while Chuba Hubbard pounded out 120 rushing yards to dominate possession.

Winning in a hostile environment while leaving points on the board is a mark of progress. On paper, Carolina looks like the most dangerous team in the NFC South.

After going winless against in-state rivals last year, the Tar Heels marched into Wallace Wade Stadium, rallied for a 24-20 win behind Jaylen McGill's clutch late touchdown, and brought the Victory Bell back to Chapel Hill.

In many ways, it was Belichick’s personal version of Dr. Dre’s "Forgot About Dre" — a reminder to the college football world of who he is and what he builds.

College football as generations knew and loved it is officially fading away. The College Football Playoff is finalizing an expansion deal with ESPN to grow the postseason field to a staggering 24 teams starting in 2027. What used to be a regular season where every Saturday felt like a playoff game is transforming into "Diet NFL" — a bloated bracket designed for TV inventory.

But if head coaches and athletic directors think a 24-team field provides job security, they're in for a rude awakening. Expansion doesn't eliminate hot seats — it just shifts the sliding scale of expectations. Missing a 24-team field will be an automatic fireable offense, and getting knocked out in Round 1 by a 3-loss team will get coaches run out of town even faster.
