We are the Water Polo Club at William and Mary! "Like" us to get the latest game updates and to find out more about our amazing members!! What is water polo?

Water polo is a challenging water sport played between two teams that try to throw a ball into the opponents' goal. This sport requires skill, speed, conditioning and endurance. Stretching and proper warm-up before engaging in this sport are important due to the sudden twisting, turning and throwing motions which occur. Water polo requires an individual to be a proficient swimmer, because he cannot touch the sides or bottom of the pool for extended periods of time.

In honor of today’s “graduation” we’d like to congratulate and recognize our 3 amazing seniors for all hard work they’ve put in over the past 4 years to make this club so special. Take a look at their pics to see how fantastic they are!

To all of our seniors, congrats!! Thank you so much for everything you’ve given to this team. You have all worked so hard to make this club a positive welcoming environment and the team won’t be the same without you. We wish you the best in all your future endeavors and know that you will continue to succeed. We miss you already and there will always be a lane open for you here in Adair.

Hey hey todays the big day and time for the last featured player - Paulina Swigart! Paulina is one of the most dedicated members of our team and even played Wapo in high school, so she is a seasoned pro(?). She is from Connecticut, which should tell you everything you need to know about her. If you’re ever looking for someone to go to Cookout with, Paulina might be interested (but probably not). Paulina’s #1 personality trait is that she loves secrets, so if you need someone for a gossip sesh, she’s your girl. If Paulina had her way, tryouts would be open to only eligible bachelors. Thankfully, we have rational people in charge, so whether youre single, taken, or anywhere in between, please come join us for a great time.

While due to poor time management we only introduced you to 7 members of our team, we have many more amazing players - but you’ll have to come out tonight at 8 in Adair hall to meet them yourself!

This here is Red Kyle, easily recognized anywhere by his luscious, fiery locks. Like many of our team, Red Kyle is a swim club convert who realized there’s more to life than aimlessly swimming back and forth (sorry swim club) and we couldn’t be happier to have him! If you ever hear the words “I am uncomfortable” in or out of the water, chances are you’ve found Red Kyle so be sure to say Hi. Watch out though. Much like his beloved crabs, Red Kyle has been known to pinch some toes, so If you ever at practice be sure to keep your feet out of his reach. 😉

Next up is our good pal Eli Rothleder. A man of many words, Eli may not be the largest person in the pool, but you would never know from his personality. Eli was once a member of a fraternity organization, but has since renounced that way of life for the far superior kinship of club sports. Much like a fish, Eli is small, lightning fast in the water, and smooth with the ladies. Eli currently holds the W&M Water Polo record for the least number of goals scored (-1), Go Eli! Come on out to practice and see if you’ll be the one to break his impressive record!

Oops sorry I’m a little late in introducing Kenneth Li!

Drinking a cold beer in the heat of summer (21 and up only). Stepping on a crunchy leaf on a crisp fall afternoon. Running into Kenneth at Swem after a long day of class. These are the little things that spark joy in our lives. Much like a young pup, Kenneth displays shock and delight at every unplanned encounter with a teammate. You may have seen Ken 10 minutes earlier, but he’ll still greet you like a soldier returning from war. To maintain this level of enthusiasm, Kenneth must take frequent naps. But beware, he always has one eye open. Come to practice and you might be lucky enough to see ken walk through the door as you dry off.

Let’s keep things rolling with today’s featured player, team captain Billy Storm aka Bill Strom

Dilly Dilly! Billy (Bill for short) hails from the great city of Philly. Bill is undoubtedly the holiest member of our team. You will most likely find him in the pool playing hole, going five hole in a game of “Chel”, or showing an unsuspecting freshman the latest hole in his iconic sweatpants. When he’s not in the pool, you can probably find Billy supporting his D1 Varsity athlete girlfriend at a Tribe Lax game, enjoying a brewski, or patronizing local businesses, such as Qdoba. Come to practice and Billy might just include you in a demonstration of the full nelson. Please fill out a waiver prior to attendance.

Since our first practice is less than a week away, what better way to get hype than to meet to some of our amazing team members, starting with our fearless leader Eleanor Kasten!

Wake and bake! Every weekend Ella (also known as Daniel Speer) gets up early to make her patented crusty bread; It tastes better than it sounds. Debatably homeless, Ella enjoys walking barefoot, dumpster diving, and dying her hair with kool-aid. Crunchy! Ella is speedy in the pool, but even harder to catch after greasing up with some marbles. Unfortunately, this method is not sanctioned by USA Water Polo and Ella received a two year ban. Come to practice to be a part of Ella’s highly anticipated return.
