EST. 2024 | ✈️

The Oak City Aviators are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit travel baseball organization serving Wake, Johnston & Harnett Counties, built on development, family, service, transparency & a team-first culture. Our mission is to provide a travel baseball experience that goes far beyond the game itself. We are dedicated to developing hard-working, committed, and confident athletes who give 110% on and off the field, while creating a true sense of community and family for every player and their loved ones. Our Values

Family Atmosphere
We believe that baseball is more than a sport, it’s a family. We create a supportive, welcoming environment where players and families feel at home. First-Class Resources & Partnerships
We are committed to providing the highest quality resources and partnerships to support player development and growth. Community Involvement
We believe in giving back and being active members of our local community, teaching our players the importance of service and connection. Communication & Transparency
Open, honest communication is at the heart of our organization. We keep our families informed, involved, and supported every step of the way. Developing Players and Young Men
We focus on building strong, skilled baseball players, but more importantly, we are committed to helping shape our athletes into respectful, resilient, and confident young men who are prepared for life beyond the field. Teambuilding On and Off the Field
We believe that what teams do off the field directly translates to how they play together on it. We create experiences and opportunities for players to bond, build trust, and grow stronger as a unit. Genuine Care
We care deeply for every player and family. Our priority is to foster an environment where each individual feels valued, seen, and encouraged to grow.

This is what we can accomplish when we come together as a community!

Thanks to an incredible response, we were able to provide Jaceon’s family with hospital care and comfort items, along with Uber Eats and DoorDash gift cards.

We were also able to put together 29 grab bags filled with snacks for families utilizing the Ronald McDonald Family Room inside Duke Children’s Hospital. We’re also donating self-care items and activity books, including crossword puzzles and word searches, to help stock the Family Room for families spending long days at the hospital.

A HUGE thank you to families from the NC Admirals Baseball Academy , Carolina Vipers Baseball, GBI Express 11U, A2K Baseball - 9U, Mill Town Baseball Academy, Oak City Aviators - 10U, Oak City Aviators - 11U, and Jaceon’s fourth grade teacher, Ms. Baker, who all contributed. And thank you to anyone we may have missed because a gift receipt wasn’t included!

We’re incredibly proud of the Triangle baseball community for coming together to support Jaceon and his family.

UPDATE: You guys have SHOWED UP!

Less than four hours ago, we shared the message below asking our community to help us put together grab-and-go bags for Jaceon’s family, and the Amazon Wish List is already almost completely cleared!

We still have a few needs, including DoorDash and Uber Eats gift cards and a handful of smaller items, but thanks to all of you, we should be able to get these bags up to Durham by the end of this week.

We cannot thank this community enough. You purchased items, shared the post, reached out asking what else was needed and immediately stepped up for a baseball family most of us have never even met.

This is what it means to show up for one of our own.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. 💙

Hey, Triangle baseball, let’s show up for one of our own. 💙⚾️

Ten-year-old Jaceon Nye is a travel baseball player with Mill Town Baseball Academy, a program based in the Charlotte area. Jaceon survived a devastating accident that tragically took the lives of his parents and younger sister.

Jaceon is currently at Duke, which means his extended family has dropped everything and come to the Triangle to be by his side. His baseball community may be hours away in Charlotte, but right now, he’s in ours.

So let’s take care of them while they’re here.

After connecting directly with Mill Town Baseball, we’re putting together grab-and-go bags for Jaceon’s family members spending long days at the hospital. Each bag will have simple, practical things they can grab on the way out the door: snacks, drinks, toiletries, something to read, puzzles and other small comforts for the long hours at Duke.

We’ve created an Amazon Wish List with the items we’re collecting:
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/ASYY6LS3RJZD?ref_=wl_share

Already-purchased items automatically disappear from the list, so anything you see is something we still need.

If you’d rather contribute and let us do the shopping, you can Venmo . We’ll take care of purchasing, assembling and getting everything where it needs to go.

We’d also love your ideas. If there’s something you think would be helpful in these bags that we’ve missed, send it our way.

We plan to begin getting items to the family Monday, September 28, or sooner depending on how quickly everything comes together.

This is just about helping with what they need right now. We’ll stay connected with Mill Town and share other opportunities to support Jaceon and his family as their needs change in the weeks and months ahead.

Triangle baseball has shown time and again just how big this community really is. Let’s show this family that while they’re here, they have a whole baseball community standing with them.

Please share this with your teams, organizations and baseball families. 💙

For anyone who would prefer to support Jaceon and his family directly, their GoFundMe is here:

This story hits incredibly close to home for our Aviators family.

Two and a half years ago, our founders and their family experienced an unimaginable loss. On Memorial Day 2024, Miles Campbell, one of Coach Chris’s rec players and Lincoln’s friend and teammate, was tragically killed in an accident alongside his parents, Tyler and Susie.

We have lived close enough to this kind of unimaginable loss to know how much it matters when a community shows up. When we heard about the Nye family, we wanted to share their story and give our community an opportunity to show up for them, too.

Our hearts are with Jaceon, his family, his teammates, his coaches and the entire Mill Town community as they navigate an unimaginable loss while Jaceon continues to fight.

A GoFundMe has been established to support Jaceon and his family in the days ahead. If you are able to contribute, please consider doing so. If you aren't, sharing their story can help it reach someone who can.

Keep fighting, Jaceon. There is a much bigger baseball family standing behind you. 💙⚾️
