Umstead 100 Mile Endurance Run

10/02/2026

It's not too early to start training and building your base. We have some excellent training info on the website, including Blake Norwood's "How to Train For and Run Your First 100 at the Umstead 100" and a couple other articles including on hydration and blister prevention.

Here's a calculator to help you gauge when you'll start each lap. You'll have to adjust the times if you've planned a nap in the middle.

The 2027 roster for the Umstead 100 is now posted on the website. Good luck training-see you in April !

Ok, all the SCL winners have been processed, I hope there are a lot of happy folks :) You should see an email notification of payments processed. There were a few failed payments (probably cc typos), you should see an email requesting payment for those, please take care of that as soon as you can. As soon as those are closed out I will compile the combined roster and ask the webmaster to post. Hopefully by Wednesday or Thursday.

All registration has concluded. We will be working on selecting the lottery winners which could be tomorrow or Monday. If you are a winner, you will receive a notification. We release these one at a time so please be patient. I will make a post when we start. There were 102 entries so your chances are 50-50 😊

Final notice: Second Chance Lottery ends at 6pm Saturday September 26.

09/22/2026

As of right now, there are 71 entries in the SCL, which means your odds are better than 50-50, but it will remain open until Saturday at 6pm.

Second Chance Lottery is now open until 9/26 at 6pm. A limited number of 1 and 4 person cabins are available. You can request one by sending an email to [email protected] and if you win a slot, they will contact you if any are available and you can pay at packet pickup.

(edit - corrected the date. SCL closes on the 26th not the 23rd)Roster from initial registration is up on the website. Let me know if there are any errors. Also, the button for Second Chance Lottery is up on the website. I will open it for registration sometime before midnight tonight 😁 It will stay available until next Saturday, the 26th until 6pm. There is no advantage to being first to register, every entry for the week has the same chance, with the exception of people going for their 500/1000/2000 mile buckle and major volunteers - see more info on that in the registration section on the website. And there is no time limit on filling out the form and your credit cards will not be charged at that time. After we close on the 26th a random selection process will occur to select 50 persons. Probably on Sunday, after the selections are made, we will go in and process the winners and you will get a notification, so that will be the indication that you are in. In addition, we will set aside another 10 entries for a wait list, in case we get more drops than expected. You will get an email asking if you wish to remain on the waitlist. So, congrats to those already in and good luck this week in the lottery.
