Terry Johnson went home with a C-Note for Best Appearing Fresh Build at The Carlsbad Racers Reunion #2 and here is the story.
This Austin belonged to Jack White, Head of The Carlsbad Raceway Crew until it closed in 2004. We would see Jack at the Barona Drag Strip with his grandson on the regular sitting in his same spot, top of the Bleachers, far left corner. He would often come up to the tower to chew the fat and just hang out.
Jack made it to the 1st C’Bad Racers Reunion as Honorary Head of The Reunion Crew, seen in the 4th image here.
Shortly After The Inaugural C’Bad Racers Reunion in 2024, we lost Jack.🙏
After Jacks passing, his widow, Ruth, sold the Austin Project to Terry Johnson.
With the help of RJ Simrock, The Hyde Family, Johnny Motorhead, Jim Zabel, Steve Beck and Jeff Martin, The Car made it to The C’Bad Racers Reunion #2……
The End Result was Definitely Worth The Thrash!
Nice Work Terry…..
We are Certain Jack would Approve🏆🏆🏆
