It’s time! The 3rd annual Kamp Klotz is upon us…

Kamp Klotz is less than 4 weeks away so don’t forget to register ASAP. They’re only a few spots left so don’t miss out!

It’s that time of year again! 2nd annual Kamp Klotz is upon us. Registration deadline is September 1st. Limited spots available.

Kamp Klotz is only one week away and I just wanted to inform everyone that there’s been a change in scheduling as I didn’t get enough skaters signed up to do three separate groups. Instead there will be two. Group one will be squirts/peewees (2011-2016 birth years) and group two will be bantam/JV/varsity (2006-2010 birth years). Group one will be on the ice at 5:30pm-6:30pm and group two will follow 6:30pm-7:30pm. All ice times are at the Rushmore Thunderdome. I hope this doesn’t inconvenience anyone and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

Kamp Klotz Dates and Times-

There will be a total of 8 sessions over a 4 week period. Every Monday and Wednesday starting September 25th and ending October 18th. There will be 3 different age groups (depending on the number of participants) Mites/Squirts (2013-2019), Pee-wees/Bantams (2009-2012) and JV/Varsity (2005-2008). Cost of camp is $200.

Mites/Squirts 5pm-6pm, Pee-wees/Bantams 6pm-7pm and JV/Varsity 7:15pm-8:15pm. All ice sessions will take place at the Rushmore Thunderdome.

Welcome to Kamp Klotz, a hockey skills and conditioning camp designed to get skaters prepared for their upcoming season/tryouts.

Here at Kamp Klotz we strive to provide each and every player the opportunity to better themselves and others every time they step on the ice, no matter age or skill level.

We will focus on skill development, stick handling, skating, shooting and overall conditioning. Each session will be an hour long and will include uptempo drills, power skating, stick handling obstacles, small area games and a short full ice scrimmage. Can’t wait to see you all in September!

Meet the Coach:

I’ve been playing and coaching in Rapid City for the past 6 years. I moved here back in 2018 and have been involved in the hockey community ever since. I’ve had the pleasure of working with local kids each summer/fall since then alongside Riley Weselowski and The Black Hills Hockey Academy. I have over 15 years of professional hockey experience in various leagues such as the AHL, ECHL, EIHL and CHL. I grew up playing hockey in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. I played major junior hockey in the WHL for the Red Deer Rebels and the Saskatoon Blades. I was eventually drafted to the NHL in 2007 and signed my first NHL contract with the Philadelphia Flyers at 19 years old. Since turning pro at 19 I’ve accumulated 15 professional seasons, 5 of which were with the Rapid City Rush.
