USA Softball South Dakota 'Legend of the Game' Friday
Scott Richard Sebbo was born July 28, 1977, in Rapid City, Scott graduated from Stevens High School in 1996, where he stood out as an exceptional multi‑sport athlete. He excelled in football, basketball, and Post 22 baseball, earning the respect of teammates and opponents alike. His athletic journey continued at Augustana University, where he played both football and baseball and formed lifelong friendships that remained central to his life. He later attended the University of South Dakota, continuing to build the foundation of leadership and mentorship that defined his career.
Scott was known for his larger‑than‑life personality, his ability to make friends anywhere he went, and his proud role as the ultimate “girl dad.” His daughters, Madison and Mylee, were the center of his world, and he poured his heart into raising them with love, joy, and unwavering devotion. His fiancée, Jayme Johnson, and her children, Kinley (Jayden) Archuleta and Christian Johnson, were also part of the family he held close.
A lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan, Scott cheered with passion through every season—win or lose. He loved hunting and created countless memories with friends who became like family during their many trips to “the farm,” a place filled with laughter, stories, and tradition.
Scott dedicated many years to teaching and coaching, serving as a PE teacher at Southwest Middle School, where his energy, encouragement, and genuine care inspired thousands of students. His coaching career spanned high school football programs at Custer, Stevens, Douglas, and St. Thomas More, and he proudly coached several of his daughters’ softball teams. His influence reached players, families, and colleagues across Rapid City—always leading with heart, humor, and a deep love for sports.
He is survived by his daughters, Madison and Mylee Sebbo, fiancée Jayme Johnson, and her children, Kinley (Jayden) Archuleta and Christian Johnson, Mother Debbie (Greg) Hilt of Rapid City, father Rick (Angie) Sebbo of Keller, Texas. His sister, Lindsay (Brad) Willits, and their children, Brody and Khloe Willits.
