Some horses come into our lives to teach us, stretch us, and quietly shape who we become. For me, that horse was MB Royal Express.

Opie was the first young horse that was truly my own, and with him came a journey full of lessons, patience, and deep understanding. He challenged me, humbled me, and opened my eyes to the depth of the horse’s mind and heart in ways I never expected.

We shared many experiences — the good, the hard, and everything in between. Though our paths separated for a time, fate brought him back to me, and I had the gift of being with him through his final days.

Opie had a lasting impact on everyone he spent time with during the years he wasn’t with me. When he returned to me, I had the pleasure of sharing him with a dear friend who loved him just as much as I did — someone who saw his heart the same way I did and gave him the gift of a second deep connection with a human who truly understood him.

We miss him terribly. But the lessons, the love, and the bond we shared will always stay with us — because horses like Opie never really leave you.

Sugar may have come to us as a companion, but she quickly became so much more.

We originally leased Sugar to keep Opie company in his senior years. She was meant to be a gentle presence for him, and she truly was, but even after saying goodbye to Opie, Sugar stayed on, and in the time since, she’s become a permanent and beloved part of our family.

At 22 years young and blind in one eye, Sugar’s spirit is as lively and full of love as ever. With her kind nature, soft heart, and endless patience, she now brings joy and snuggles to the next generation, making memories with the kids who adore her just as much as we do.

She may be small, but her impact is anything but.

Every barn has a matriarch — a horse whose presence is felt the moment you step in the arena. For us, that’s By Golly I’m Hot.

Sired by the legendary Blazing Hot, “Molly” had an incredibly successful show career with my mom, taking care of her through countless classes and moments in the ring. She was as honest and dependable as they come — a true partner and competitor.

Now lovingly known as Queen Molly around the barn, she’s enjoying a well-earned semi-retirement with me. I think my mom is proud to see her thriving — living out her days with sunshine, naps, snacks, and a little light teaching on the side.

In her spare time (when she’s not grazing or napping), Molly continues to guide riders — helping them sharpen their skills and deepen their partnership with their horses.

She gave her all in the show pen, and now she gives just as much in her quiet, thoughtful way — still making a difference, just as she always has.

Suddun Potential.

Some horses change your show record. Others change your heart. Suddun Potential has done both.

This 16-year-old dun gelding is a multiple World Champion and was a true game-changer for me in the show pen. I’ve had the privilege of calling him mine for over 13 years, and his impact on my journey — both in and out of the arena — is immeasurable.

His goofy personality, striking good looks, and quiet confidence make him not just a partner, but a joy to be around every single day.

Today, he’s still in the ring, now leased by a wonderful youth rider, continuing to teach, inspire, and perform with the same heart he always has. Horses like Suddun Potential are once in a lifetime — and I’m endlessly grateful for him.

We couldn’t be more thrilled with what this young filly is becoming. Born in 2025 and already turning heads, Figured I’m Lucky is the product of thoughtful breeding and generations of proven performance.

This red dun filly is sired by Figured I’m Invited, an own son of the legendary Invitation Only, and out of our cornerstone mare — sired by two-time World Champion Dun Goin Steady and out of a mare whose lineage traces directly to the legendary Barpasser — giving her a pedigree built on greatness from both sides.

Elegant, correct, and already showing the quiet confidence we value — Figured I’m Lucky is an exciting piece of our future and one we’ll be watching closely as she matures.
