Today was tough.

Long hours have been put in.
Hard matches.
The kind of ending no one hopes for.

But wrestling was never just about winning.

It’s about standing alone on the mat and giving everything you have. It’s about shaking hands when it hurts. It’s about choosing grit over quitting.

It’ll hurt for a while. But that doesn’t change how proud of the boys we are, as they should be of themselves.

The season is over — but the growth isn’t. They’ll take that with them forever.

Everything must eventually come to an end. Not how we envisioned it. Proud just the same.

Tysen Taylor fought a hard fight but was defeated by Vasquez of Kearney Catholic to end the first round at the Nebraska State Wrestling a tournament for our Mustangs.
