Joltins Gym

After 5 years, Joltin's Gym is shutting it's doors at the current location. Although I have a conditional use permit to have Berks County Insurance here, that does not apply to Joltin's Gym. The neighboring properties have NO objection to what we do here.....but a township resident who doesn't even live in my neighborhood, complained to the Township. He had read about our success in the newspaper and while we have no impact on him whatsoever, he submitted a formal complaint to the township. His name is Karl Schemburg (I have a copy of his complaint).

A personal note to Karl Schemburg....I was doing something good here, something that didn't bother or affect anyone in a negative way, something that I had passion for, something that brought self-esteem and confidence to those that I worked with, something that EVERYONE that stepped through my door appreciated....and had very positive things to say about what we did. Karl... you should start to worry a lot more about yourself and the type of person you are....and less about the good things in this community that have no affect on you. You are nothing more than the township trouble maker and quite honestly....NO ONE appreciates it. Ask around town what people think of your constant complaints about everything....and then look in the mirror and ask yourself why? Rather than take the time to file a complaint, maybe you should have taken the time to stop by and see the positive impact I had on EVERYONE that I worked with.

But while we may be down, we are not knocked out. We are currently looking for commercial space to open a new and improved Joltin's Gym where we can grow and turn young athletes into champions both in and out of the ring!! Getting knocked down is part of boxing.....it is what you do when you get back up that makes a champion.

Pat Kehoe defeated Jon Acosta in a very close and exciting main event on Friday night. It was a crowd pleasing fight between two very tough open class competitors. Fortunately for us....Kehoe got the decision and another win for Joltin's Gym.
Jordan Demko also won on Friday night defeating Logan Trout.
Jordan looked sharp in out pointing a very strong and tough opponent. Congrats to both Pat & Jordan on the Wins.

Joltin's Gym along with the PA Athletic Commission are hosting a night of Amateur Boxing at the Colonial Country Club in Harrisburg, PA. Proceeds from this event go to the Ronald McDonald House. Come out and support Pennsylvania's best amateur boxers and a great cause at the same time. Boxing starts at 7:15pm.

Pat Kehoe from Joltin's Gym headlines this event as he once again steps up to the Open Class to take on Jonathan "Knuckles" Williams in what promises to be a classic boxer vs. slugger match-up. Jordan Demko from Joltin's gym will also be boxing on this event as he takes on Logan Trout from Titans Gym.

Boxers from East Reading Boxing Club, Allentown Boxing Club, Capital Punishment BC, Harrisburg BC, Nye's Gym and Harrowgate Gym will also be participating in the event.

Another WIN for the Joltin's Team as Jeremy Weinman beat Stephen Reilly (Swoyersville Boxing Club) at the Hamburg Field House on 5/19/2012. Jeremy knocked Reilly down in the 2nd and gave him a standing 8-count in the 3rd. Congrats to the Team!

Big Win on Saturday night for the Team!!! Pat Kehoe defeated Jimmy Saint Alband from Philly's tough Harrowgate Boxing Gym.

Another successful event for Slugfest Promotions in hosting the PA Golden Gloves tournament. Joltin's Gym won 2 Central Division Championship bouts as Jordan Demko defeated Shakeem Hodge to win the 165lb title and Pat Kehoe won the 152lb title by walkover when the Harrisburg Boxing Club decided to leave before their bout with Pat. Luis Guerra and Matt Rybnick of Joltin's Gym lost tough decisions but both showed tremendous heart in their hard fought bouts.

We are bringing the PA Golden Gloves back to Reading, PA this coming Friday at the Albright College Schumo Center. Don't miss this great night of boxing featuring the area's top amateur boxers compete for the Golden Gloves championships. Joltin's Gym has Jordan Demko, Pat Kehoe and Matthew Rybnick fighting for the Central Division championship finals. Also, Luis Guerra from Joltin's Gym will be fighting in a Semi-Final bout on Friday (if he wins, he will compete next weekend in Tamaqua for the Championship). Pat Kehoe scores another KO Victory stopping Terrence Brown (Swoyersville BC) in the 2nd Round. Also....Jordan Demko dominated Bakula Simpson (Harrisburg BC) giving him a standing 8-count in all 3 rounds to win a Unanimous Decision. Both Pat and Jordan will advance to the next round of the Golden Gloves. Don't forget....Joltin's Gym and Slugfest Promotions bring the Golden Gloves Tournament to Readnig, PA when we host the Semi-Final round of the Golden Gloves on 3/16/2012 at the Albright College Schumo Center.

Pat Kehoe WINS on 2/4/2012 at the SlugFest Promotions Event at Exeter Township Jr. High School. Jordan Demko won his bout and was awarded Outstanding Boxer of the Night. Cole Ruoff and Luis Guerra both lost very close decisions. Next Event.....PA Golden Gloves Tournament. More info to follow.
