On Saturday the 4th of July, Kathy Robson will be singing our national anthem, after performing the military medley as she does each year.

Kathy has been singing in the Home of Champions Rodeo and Parade for over 20 years, originally auditioning for Glory Mahan. She is a former church choir director and sang in a large choir and for large church productions.

She is a pioneer in the field of closed captioning for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, writing live events from national news to major sporting events like the Olympics and World Series. Today, she provides captioning for deaf and hard-of-hearing college students and others.

A native of CA, Kathy moved to Red Lodge in 2001 following in the footsteps of her great-grandparents who homesteaded in central MT in 1906.

She was president of the Red Lodge Business Alliance, president of the Belfry, MT school board, and has spent over 20 years working in Red Lodge Proud & Beautiful, bringing not only Independence Day fireworks to downtown Red Lodge, but the flower baskets along Broadway as well. She’s been a key organizer of the Red Lodge Christmas Stroll since its early days.

In her “spare” time she loves to travel, read, watch old television shows, and spoil her 10-year-old granddaughter.

Kids Day on Thursday!!

On Friday the 3rd, our national anthem will be performed by Jennifer Coutts.

Jennifer performs as a keyboardist and singer with the Cellar Door band, serves as an accompanist at Messiah Lutheran Church, and has worked as a music teacher, as well as a bartender, server, line cook, lift operator, ski instructor, stage manager at Tippet Rise and landscaper. Currently, Jennifer works by day as a legal assistant.

A native Pennsylvanian, Jennifer made Red Lodge her permanent residence in 2006. Skiing was a factor. Jennifer is a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. She has a Bachelor of Music degree from Mansfield University in Pennsylvania and Master of Education from MSU Billings. Recently, Jennifer tried her hand at acting in two recent productions: "Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" and "If All the Sky Were Paper." At home, she stays busy as a proud dog mom to three energetic four-legged companions, Lucy, Zoey and Eddy. Jennifer enjoys running, skiing, biking, cooking, reading, and skiing (and did she mention skiing?).

Our national anthem will have different performers every day this year. On Thursday the 2nd, the anthem will be sung by Marty & The 3-D's!

They have been performing together since 2012. They started out with three Davids and Marty, but when one of the Daves retired and wanted to be free to travel more, they were lucky enough to find Dana who could step in... so they still have 3 D's. Marty & The 3-D's are all members of the Big Sky Chorus, which was incorporated in 1962 as the Billings Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

Besides sending out quartets to deliver Singing Valentines in Red Lodge and the greater Billings area, the Big Sky Chorus does several Show each year. They will perform in Huntley August 16th, in Billings August 22nd and right here in Red Lodge August 30th.

They also do a lot of performance (many of them free to the public) around Christmas time.

The Home of Champions rodeo may be sold out on the 4th, but you don't need tickets for the parades! We'll be lining the streets on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and the parade will start at noon sharp. We strongly recommend grabbing your spot early!

You can settle anywhere along the parade route on Broadway, but please keep your chairs on the sidewalk (not the road) and leave enough room for people to walk between you and the buildings.

See you there!

It's time! See you soon, Red Lodge! 🥳
