Join us November 7th between 5 and 8 PM for a Sugar Plum tutu at the Redding Arts Project. Only $15 per child, or $45 for a family. All supplies provided! Proceeds support our non-profit ballet company, Redding Ballet Theatre, and The Nutcracker performance with Shasta Symphony Orchestra at Shasta College Theater December 18-20th.

THERE’S NO SECRET TO BALLET TECHNIQUE!

I often see constructive online posts offering a magical solution to “fixing” pirouettes or jumps. I even share helpful tips myself. And sometimes students ask me, “How do I fix this or that?” Wanting a special, unknown resolution to whatever they’re struggling with. Well my friends, there is no such thing.

Yes, there are tips we can share that will help you grasp certain movements. Things like conditioning exercises and visualization exercises come to mind as useful tools for improving targeted positions and steps.

But these thing will not teach you to execute ballet technique. Nor will they offer you mastery of ballet technique.

If you want to master your ballet technique, attend ballet classes consistently. Study ballet in class, listen to your teacher’s advice and corrections. Steadfast commitment to your daily study in class will support you in your goals!

So, in the end, maybe there is a “secret.”

The secret is BALLET CLASS!
