The Shasta Lake summer season is upon us! We've been seeing some pretty good fishing so far and it's only going to get better as we inch further into the summer months. We're catching rainbows and browns for the most part now but we'll start to target King salmon in the lake in June. With the lake nearly at full pool the season ahead looks very good! Shasta fishes good no matter the conditions but it seems to fish best when we have big water years. I'll try to keep this page up to date this summer but I'm always posting to Jeff Goodwin Guide Services with the most up to date reports on Shasta Lake and the other locations we fish. Great day on Shasta again today. Better weather and a sustained bite really helped show todays group a good time.

Shasta Lake started off great today and then the wind came and shut the bite down. Still managed 5 of these beauties and a bunch of shakers before calling it a day. I’ve been really impressed with the quality of our trout this year so far!

We left the lake in August for river salmon, but we’re back at it and our last 4 trips on Shasta produced some nice trout and incidental bass. The lake is up 19’ and is in great shape! We’re seeing mostly rainbows, but the browns will start to come back to the lake after spawning in the tributaries. March is my best month for trophy browns, but we’ll start to see some of the big boys and girls by February if not sooner! Another solid day on Shasta Lake catching Kings, Kokanee, rainbow trout, and a few pesky Spotted bass. We have lots of good fishing left on Shasta this summer and conditions on the lake are great! Fire 🔥 Brine coated plugs did the trick again today!

The Brady crew checked in this morning and report a good bite on Shasta Lake with clear skies (limited smoke). Lots of boats out as expected, but it’s always busy on Shasta during the 4th of July weekend! Some of the evacuation areas north east of the lake have lifted and the fishing is good down around the dam! We have some July dates available after the big weekend!

Another great day on Shasta Lake catching rainbow trout and salmon! Fire 🔥 Gel and KCP’s did a great job of attracting bites again today!
