Bird Dog of the Day

Kenzie is the ! She was my dad’s black lab and passed here recently at the age of 13. Named after the Mckenzie River here in Oregon, where she was born. Missing her steady and sweet nature. She was a solid retriever, an expert at stealing snacks in the duck blind and a great fishing dog. I never once saw her get cold, as she had a nice thick layer of blubber 🤣.

She hunted with my lab Milo for nearly a decade and they were a quite a team. She’d stand in cold water for long periods of time waiting for ducks or for a trout to rise, seeming to just enjoy watching the beauty of nature. She was very loyal to my Dad and went for daily trail runs with him her entire life. I sure wish good dogs lived longer.

What should our next design be?

Sage is today’s ! She is a 5 year old Bracco Italiano from Illinois, with bloodlines out of Wingfoot Kennels in OH. “As an avid hunter, I’ve owned several, but I have to admit that my current family member “Sage” is perhaps the best I’ve ever owned. What a wonderful, intuitive, and sensitive breed.”

I’m exceptionally happy with how our new hats came out and can’t wait for you to put one on. The embroidered designs are super sharp, the material quality is supreme, but “it’s the fit for me, dog.” As a picky hat guy my whole life, largely on fit, it’s great to have a hat that represents my passions and fits so well (3 snaps on 7-5/8). I haven’t taken these off since receiving samples—and have no plans to!

We’re taking pre-orders now and the first batch ships in early July. Let us know in the comments what designs we should do in batch 002. 👇

Sage is the ! She is a young Wirehaired Pointing Griffon from Colorado. First photo was “right after learning a lesson about why we don’t eat crankbaits.” She also “absolutely crushed her first day in the field - she healed steady to wing on every bird…she got the memo and ran with it. Couldn’t be prouder of her!”
