Creative Motion has been serving the Reedsburg area since May of 2002 and is very excited to be entering its 20th year of continued commitment to educating the students of the Reedsburg community and beyond in the art of dance and performing. Cathy Roe Ultimate Dance Challenge 'Best Choreography' winner, Kari Goodman, graduated from UW-River Falls in 2001 with degrees in Marketing, Speech Communic

ation and Theatre Arts and Dance Education. She has continued her education through training courses like Dance Educators of America Teacher Training Program at UNLV. She has also enjoyed performing and choreographing professionally for the Chicago Club Dinner Theatre, in addition to choreographing for competitive show choirs, and the Reedsburg and Hillsboro High Schools' musical productions. Creative Motion offers their students many exciting performing and educational experiences throughout the studio year. Creative Motion Dance has traveled multiple times to NYC to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, participate in a Flash Mob in Times Square, and take classes at Broadway Dance Center. They have also made multiple trips to Disney World to participate in their performing arts program and perform on the Waterside Stage in Disney Springs. We are so excited to be celebrating out 20th year in Reedsburg and have so many amazing things in store for the upcoming year!

Today, we celebrate the people whose hard work keeps our communities moving forward. 💛

The teachers and caregivers. The farmers and builders. The healthcare workers and first responders. The small business owners and service workers. The people working behind the scenes and those we see every day.

Labor Day is more than the unofficial end of summer - it's a day to recognize the contributions of American workers, past and present, and the role they have played in building the communities we call home.

To all of the hardworking people in our Creative Motion families and throughout our community: we see you, we appreciate you, and we hope today brings you a well-deserved opportunity to rest, recharge and spend time with the people you love.

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MISS KELLSIE! 🎂

Miss Kellsie has been part of Creative Motion in just about every way possible — first as a student, then as a teacher, and eventually as a Creative Motion mom, too. ❤️

When she isn't here with us, she's busy teaching little learners in her 4K classroom — so apparently spending her days surrounded by children just wasn't enough. 😂

We're pretty lucky that she keeps coming back to share her creativity, energy and love of kids with another generation of Creative Motion students.

And since I get to write the post... I'm pretty lucky to call her my little sister, too. ❤️

One week from tomorrow, our 2026–27 season begins at Creative Motion — and we cannot wait to welcome everyone back. 💛

If you've been looking at the schedule, talking about classes with your child, or thinking “We should really get them signed up…” — this is the week to do it.

We're finalizing our fall class schedule now, and registration this week helps us make those final decisions about which classes will move forward for the season.

So if there's a class your child has been excited about, please don't wait to register. Your enrollment may be exactly what helps that class get started. ✨

Maybe this is the year they dance.

Tap is noisy. It's rhythmic. It's energetic. And it's a whole lot of fun.

Which is probably why kids don't realize just how much they're learning while they're doing it. 😉

Every shuffle, flap and step helps build rhythm, coordination, musicality, timing and confidence — skills that carry into every style of dance.

At Creative Motion, dancers can start exploring tap as young as age 4, with opportunities to continue building those skills as they grow.

At Creative Motion, our artists explore different materials, techniques and ideas — from watercolor and drawing to mixed media, air-dry clay, ceramics and more.

This fall, we have creative opportunities for kids, homeschoolers AND adults — and all of your materials are included in tuition.

I didn't start dancing until I was 10. 💛

Yep. That's me. 😂

By 8, 9 or 10, it can feel like everyone else has already been dancing forever.

And I sometimes wonder how many kids never try something they might absolutely LOVE because they (or their parents) think they're already too late.

Here's what I want those kids to know:

You don't have to start at 3.

You don't have to already know the steps.

You don't have to be flexible.

And you definitely don't have to “catch up” before you walk through the door.

I walked into my very first dance class at 10 years old.

And I'd say it worked out okay. 😉

If you have an 8–10 year old who's been thinking about trying dance, this might just be their year.

We have beginner-friendly options in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Pom and Acro—and classes begin September 13.

Because 10 isn't too late.

Sometimes 10 is just the beginning. 💛

🍎 Happy First Day of School! ✏️

The buses have rolled out, the kids have been dropped off, and some houses are suddenly feeling VERY quiet this morning. 😂

We’re wishing all of our Creative Motion kiddos, families, teachers, and school staff a wonderful first day—and a year filled with learning, growing, creating, and maybe just a little dancing along the way. 💗

And because we LOVE seeing our kiddos outside the studio…

Footwork. Agility. Coordination. Body control.

Sounds like skills for the football field, basketball court or wrestling mat, right?

They are.

They’re also skills we build in dance. 💥

Boys Club gives boys a high-energy place to move, learn and have fun while developing rhythm, coordination, balance, strength, spatial awareness and movement skills that can carry into all kinds of activities.

And they don’t need any previous dance experience to get started.

👟 Boys Club 1 | Ages 4–6
👟 Boys Club 2 | Ages 7+

Two age levels mean boys can learn alongside kids at a similar developmental stage—whether they're brand new to dance or just looking for another way to move.

Fall classes begin September 13 and registration is open now.
