Congratulations are in order for Andy Schelhaas for scoring on this dandy Colorado bull elk. Andy works for Buffalo Ridge Locker and has been coming in to use our 50yd indoor range to prepare for this hunt for a few months now.....and each time he stops out, he brings us some of their delicious jerky!! With his dad cow calling for him, Andy had to sneak around some trees to get an angle on this bull after it came in silent. With its head behind a tree, Andy took a quick range and made a final pin adjustment. Finally, the bull took two steps out from behind the tree and Andy made the 60yd shot count. After a quick 50 yard run, the bull crashed to a stop! Way to go, Andy!!

Congratulations are in order for Chuck Schoepf. He only had two days to hunt for antelope and decided to not be picky. After a couple of busted stalks, he was able to close the distance to 85yds on this young buck. His arrow found the mark and his short hunt was over! Well done, Chuck!

And the ladies are on the board with a hard to draw trophy! A friend of mine, Sacha Scott, drew a Wyoming ewe only bighorn sheep tag this season and tackled this hunt with archery equipment. Her husband Charlie, had us set her up a new Bowtech Eva Gen 3 along with some new arrows. It didn't take long for her to get it dialed in and before she new it, they were hunting sheep! With Charlie guiding her, they were able to close the distance to 30yds. Sacha drew, held steady and released her shot! The arrow, tipped with a Grim Reaper Carni-Four mechanical broadhead, sizzled through the air and found the mark. A short distance later, she put her hands on her first ever bighorn sheep! To make this hunt even more special, Sacha's best friend and her husband traveled all the way from Wisconsin to witness this hunt! Super happy for you, Sacha! Glad you love the bow and good luck with your elk hunt coming up!
