For many, the goal of being a bodybuilder is so profound that they are willing to ignore the reality of their own mortality. Piana recounted this tragic tale to show the audience that the world of professional bodybuilding can be incredibly dark, where the drive for validation on stage is so intense that athletes will trade their remaining time on earth for a single moment of glory.
