Another hike along the Hunter Lake Trail. This time I went by foot and found a pond and waterfall. Not sure if that is Hunter Lake itself as it's hard to tell from the map, but it was very full of water and the stream was gushing down with so much snowpack up high. There was also a multitude of enormous caterpillars crawling all over the paths, so I had to tread carefully.

View of Reno from the Hunter Lake trail just behind the Caughlin Ranch neighborhood.

Spooky Halloween ride.
Via the Hunter Lake Trail, I rode up to Dutch Louie Flats west of Reno. It was a grueling, steep ride most of the way, but offered excellent views of downtown Reno.
The air was crisp and the grass dry. Last time I was in the meadow was in spring and it was quite a different sight. There was evidence of recent shotgun activity at the meadow by the "Hills Angels 4x4 Club" (they left a sticker on a post).
Not all the leaves have fallen yet in the birch forests up high, and I was on guard for bears and coyotes still roaming around.
Moderately recommend if you don't mind the hills on the way up and bumps on the way down. Not much faster than hiking on this one (if at all) and probably a lot more fun with an e-bike.
