🏁 WAYBACK WEDNESDAY — THE MAN WHO STARTED IT ALL! 🏁
With the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame induction ceremony taking place this Sunday, November 1, in Las Vegas, we couldn’t think of a better time to recognize someone who holds a very special place in VORRA history — our founder, Ed Robinson! 🏆
Back in 1975, Ed had a vision: to create an off-road racing organization where everyday working people could afford to compete, bring their families, and enjoy the sport they loved.
With the support of his wife, Jenny, that vision became the Valley Off-Road Racing Association — VORRA!
What started with short-course races in Northern California grew into a racing family that would span generations, with unforgettable events throughout California and Nevada.
Ed wasn’t interested in making racing exclusive. He believed in giving the average person an opportunity to get behind the wheel, compete, and experience the excitement of off-road racing.
For 25 years, Ed led VORRA, building an organization founded on affordable racing, family, friendship, and a passion for the desert.
In 2018, his dedication to the sport was recognized when he was inducted into the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame. 🏆
As the off-road community prepares to celebrate the Hall of Fame Class of 2026 this Sunday, we’re reminded of the pioneers who helped make this sport what it is today.
For us, Ed Robinson will always be one of those pioneers.
More than 50 years later, VORRA continues to carry forward the values Ed established all those years ago.
Although Ed is no longer with us, his legacy lives on every time a racer takes the green flag, a family gathers in the pits, or someone experiences their very first off-road race.
❤️ Thank you, Ed and Jenny Robinson, for creating something that has meant so much to so many families over the years.
🏁 WHO REMEMBERS THE EARLY DAYS OF VORRA?
Did you race under Ed’s leadership? Volunteer at one of his events? Have a favorite memory of Ed or Jenny?
