Open Mat is the perfect time to work on something specific and improve your game. If you post a video of what you’re working on, tag the academy (or post in the private FB group).
Why do you train? Some people train for the community and the exercise, some want to be world class competitors, and other people do it for the confidence and ability to defend themselves or someone else. These aren’t the only reasons. Knowing yours can help you stay on track and keep your promises to yourself. ▪️
No time for class, but spends 9 hours on an Instagram side quest. 💀 If this is you, we’ll see you on the mats. 😉

What a great day for everyone who competed. The kids came in strong, showcasing solid technical progress under the leadership of our great coaching staff. I’m thankful for the leadership of all our coaches to show up and support the next generation of jiu jitsu. The adults who competed were few in number but they were fierce. They showed up ready to showcase their technical prowess and finished most matches by submission, which is always the crowning jewel of our sport. Congrats and I’m proud of everyone. —Max
