We've been having some fun sight fishing with dries lately. Here's from a trip the other day.

I'll be giving a talk tonight at 8 to the Kern River Fly Fishers in Bakersfield. I'll be doing my "Seasons of the Truckee" program. Tomorrow night I'll be giving the same program to the Fresno Fly Fishers for Conservation and on Friday I'll be giving my "Advanced Streamer Tactics" program for the Kaweah Fly Fishers in Visalia. We had a great afternoon at Pyramid Lake on Tuesday. It got cloudy and a little windy and the fish came in! This was Kate's first trip to the lake this year and her first fish!! A beautiful 32 incher.

Fished the Truckee River yesterday with some great guys from Florida. The rainbow pictured below was Dino's first ever on a fly!!!! Not many bugs hatching for a cloudy day but the fish were eating nymphs. A good day on the river.

On December 2nd, I'm going to hang with the good folks at Lost Coast Outfitters in SF. I'm going to tie a bunch of flies as well as discuss streamer tactics. Really looking forward to this program, It contains a lot of ideas and patterns I've been messing around with for some time and it came time to share a little bit. I should be getting there around 3, Ill tie flies for a few hours, then well have the presentation at 5. I hope you can make it out, this should be a lot of fun. Going to be giving a presentation on fly fishing the Truckee area to the Peninsula Fly Fishers this Thursday night. It will go over the whens, the wheres and the how-tos of catching fish in the Truckee basin. We will also have a little bonus segment on some Oregon waters afterwards.
