Kevin Lee Kawai Brown
12/28/1966 – 03/06/2025


Kevin Brown, 59, passes away quietly at home on March 6, 2025, in Reno, Nevada. He had experienced disability for the past few years due to chronic illness but previously has spent many years working in the casinos. He always offered a helping hand to those less fortunate than him.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Castro Brown Jr., his mother, Joan Gafney, his sister, Brenda Brown, and his brothers, John and Wayne Nightingale. He is survived by his son, Samuel Tye Brown, his brother, Steve Nightingale, and cousins on the mainland and in Hawaii.
Kevin resided with his Uncle Sam Brown starting at 13 years old after his mother's death. As a member of the Brown family, he was a student of Kenpo and proved himself as an excellent pupil and instructor of this art reaching the distinction of the rank of 5th degree black belt.
Kevin will be missed by loved ones and friends. We would like to have a celebration of his life on June 21st at 3:00 pm at Silver Knolls Park. This would be a time for all of us to come together to remember and celebrate Kevin.

Tonight we have to say goodbye to an amazing instructor, mentor and father. Chief Instructor Robert Lee has completed his battle with cancer. Chief Lee has been a champion of the Ken Ju Bo Ai association for 30 years. His indomitable spirit will forever be remembered. We are excited for you to be reunited with your instructor Sijo Sam brown in heaven. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Lee family. Especially his wife Paulette and his amazing sons. The pain they have to endure is unimaginable. The impact that you had on the lives of so many will be remembered. We will hold you in our thoughts and prayers.
