Airborn Inflatable Boats

We no longer design, market and sell Airborn inflatable boats and paddle boards. We were not able to find the right manufacturer to build them at a competitive price. However as a personal adventure the enterprise introduced me to the sport of bone fishing from a paddle board. So the pay off was not monetary it was recreational and spiritual. I encourage readers to try the sport for themselves. The back bays and salt water flats of the Bahamas and other tropical and semi tropical islands are great places to try it.

Back on the paddle board on the flats of Abaco. The world has changed but out on the flats it's business as usual. The silence is deafening until you hook a fish!

Winter temperatures may keep you inside tying flies and watching fishing videos. But covid cabin fever might just get you outside to fish a river like the Truckee which flows from Lake Tahoe to Pyramid Lake. East of Reno the river flows through desert mountains, there are big fish here and guides who float it provided water flows are sufficient. There are even some winter dry fly hatches on stretches like the photos below.

Floated the Truckee River east of Reno today. Glorious sunny late fall day with air temps in the high forties. Water temperatures were in the low forties which slowed the bite a little but we managed to bring some fish to the net. Bill Kitchen was our guide and he is very good at what he does.

This is not the best photo we have ever posted for sure but there is something special when you have hooked a good fish, fought it for a while and then it shows right in front of you in all its color. This fish was brought to net at Pyramid Lake, Nevada which opened for fishing again Nov. 2nd. Yes it was released.

Fishing report Wahoe Lake, NV. Sept. 10, 2020. The lake has recovered from the draught and has huge carp again. As the water cools with fall weather your best bet will be to flyfish on hot days during calm afternoons. The smoke from the fires in California (2.5 million acres have burned) is obvious in this photo looking toward the Sierras. A paddle board is a huge advantage here.

To all of you who love bone fishing: Most likely you are now very aware of the devastation on the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama from category 5 hurricane "Dorian". Here are two things you can do to help. 1. Donate to the TCCF which is a relief fund based Treasure Cay, Abaco. I am personally friends with the organizers of this effort and I can assure you the funds will be distributed to those most in need. See the post at the top of this page and click to Donate Now. Any amount will help. . As an alternative there are also relief funds targeted to those in need in Grand Bahama. 2. As the infrastructure begins to recover the local guides on both of these islands will be very happy to put you out on the flats. What a great way to help the people of the Bahamas recover from this terrible disaster.
