Pilates is closely connected to breath through a fundamental principle called "Breath Control." In Pilates, proper breathing techniques are emphasized to enhance the effectiveness of exercises. The breath is coordinated with movements, typically involving inhaling through the nose to prepare for a movement and exhaling through the mouth during the most exerting phase of that movement. This controlled breathing helps stabilize the core, improve concentration, and promotes relaxation, making it an integral part of Pilates practice.
